This is my first miss, and I'm not a bit sad to miss this years fashion show. Is it just me or where more people concerned about what they were wearing than the so called "holy day"?

Yummby, you struck a chord with your comment on the fashion show.
That is EXACTLY what it was @ the KH I attended.
I found NO one was even the least bit concerned about the "Memorial of Christ's Death", but damn sure interested in getting a brand new suit or dress and flaunting it, comparing/complimenting with one another before and after the ceremony.
I personally dont think God would judge you by the best outfit you can wear to five meetings each week, or specifically on a Sunday afternoon, but by what is located in your heart.
I wonder how many JW attendants or elders would scold or turn away a person who entered the KH on this "Memorial" occasion to learn about Jesus but was dressed in ragged or worn clothing? Does that constitute that person unworthy?
JW are such hypocrites, I get sick to my stomach thinking about them.

Hell, no.!! I sat at home having a few brews and watching Steven Segal kick ass on HBO. Two movies in a row. Hey, can't be much better than this. My mom did call out of the blue the other day, and there seemed to be no reason for her to do that. She had nothing to say really. But I guess she chickened out at the last minute.

First time I DID NOT attend.
Wasnt even invited.
I guess after mailing a DA letter threatening litigation should they step on my property or make any attempt to contact me.. I can see why.

misty, at first it bothered me, and I figured I was going to die because I didn't go to memorial. But I now know that God is not going to kill me, and I no longer feel guilty. But the first few years, I did, back when my mom was always trying to get me to go. Now she doesn't even try.

you know...i even remember a time when i heard during the memorial speech that "this may even be our last memorial",,,,yeah, uh that was like 15 years ago!
Or how about the one where you shouldn't miss the meetings because at any given time, the great tribulation could start and and they'd only be able to tell the people in attendance any "secret" information needed to survive armaggedon!

My first year to stay home. I surpprised myself at the last min. I was getting ready to go and then just sat down and wacthed the clock until it was too late. Don't know what got into me.
