Really? The Einsteinian concept of a cosmological constant was debunked in the 1920s when Hubble postulated an inflationary universe.
The only modern understanding of such, is a constant known as Lamda-CDM, which makes allowances for inflation and dark energy.
Can you at least be current, and not resort to 100 year old understandings of science?

    done4good,

Were you aware that a new study seems to confirm the cosmological constant?

Irregardless of that, what about all the other parameters that are required for either the universe or life to exist? The smallest of the ones I listed below is many orders of magnitude beyond anything that can be considered possible.

Fine Tuning of the Physical Constants of the Universe

    Parameter

    Max. Deviation
Ratio of Electrons:Protons10 to 37th power
Ratio of Electromagnetic Force:Gravity10 to 40th power
Expansion Rate of Universe10 to 55th power
Mass Density of Universe110 to 59th power

    Cosmological Constant

    10 to 120th power

If you take the smallest of the ones above, Dr, Hugh Ross provides the following illustration:

One to the 37th power is such an incredibly sensitive balance that it is hard to visualize. Cover the entire North American continent in dimes all the way up to the moon, a height of about 239,000 miles (In comparison, the money to pay for the U.S. federal government debt would cover one square mile less than two feet deep with dimes.). Next, pile dimes from here to the moon on a billion other continents the same size as North America. Paint one dime red and mix it into the billions of piles of dimes. Blindfold a friend and ask him to pick out one dime. The odds that he will pick the red dime are ten to the 37th power.

There are many other observations of the fine tuning of our reality. The short video below explores this problem as well as the problems with the speculations of atheists. The parallel universe speculation is particularly troublesome because if you believe that, then you must also believe that the Tooth Fairy, Batman, and Captain America are real people SOMEWHERE in one of those universes.

This puts atheists in the ironic position of believing in the very same things that they claim not to believe in because of lack of evidence.

Why do believers spend so much time trying to evangelize? Is it insecurity?

why would we have to have multi/uni/verses to get those constants right for us here now? Many arrangements in nature are feedback systems, like the volume of water in a pot hole, the genius in craetion is that constant fiddling with the constants is not required.

This is the World that we Left:
Our willingness to follow Jehovah’s Organization in things that opposers say are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between Jehovah’s Witnesses and false religion. We take the side of the Faithful and Discreet Slave Class in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of when Armageddon would come, in spite of the tolerance of the Witness community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to Jehovah’s Wife-Life Spirit Directed Organization.

It is not that the methods and institutions of the world somehow compel us to accept Watchtower explanations, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to Watchtower objectives to create an apparatus of bible study and a set of concepts that produce explanations in-line with Jehovah’s Organization, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, the commitment to Jehovah’s Organization is absolute , for we cannot allow the Devil’s foot in the door.

This is the World that atheists have Embraced:
"Our willingness to accept scientific claims that are against common sense is the key to an understanding of the real struggle between science and the supernatural. We take the side of science in spite of the patent absurdity of some of its constructs, in spite of its failure to fulfill many of its extravagant promises of health and life, in spite of the tolerance of the scientific community for unsubstantiated just-so stories, because we have a prior commitment, a commitment to materialism.

It is not that the methods and institutions of science somehow compel us to accept a material explanation of the phenomenal world, but, on the contrary, that we are forced by our a priori adherence to material causes to create an apparatus of investigation and a set of concepts that produce material explanations, no matter how counter-intuitive, no matter how mystifying to the uninitiated. Moreover, that materialism is absolute, for we cannot allow a Divine Foot in the door." - Geneticist Professor Richard Lewontin

Are there any atheists here that would like to disagree with Professor Lewontins' position?

“If scientific analysis were conclusively to demonstrate certain claims in Buddhism to be false, then we must accept the findings of science and abandon those claims.” - Dalai Lama

That applies to any religion including Christianity.

I think most adherent atheists are 99% atheist and 1% agnostic, even noted atheist Richard Dawkins admits to that.

Creationists base their beliefs on men's spoken words alone, some people are willing to believe in those spoken words and some people are openly investigative to look for other answers to are living physical reality.

Is it more beneficial for humanity to close are minds to knowledge and self discovery of the world we live in and let ancient human beliefs rule and guide us in are social behavior and interaction in trying to live a good valuable life ?

Many religionists think we should abandon scientific discoveries and acquired knowledge and just live accordingly to ancient acquired knowledge and social moral standards, that humanity would be a lot better off if we did .

Where are you Perry on this suggestion ?

Would you like to see Universities and Colleges dismantled that study biology, archeology, astrophysics and so on ?

So what? In what way does that change your ignorance of science or dishonesty about your religion?

Yes. We get it. You don't understand science or logic or, really, anything you talk about. It's no different that being determined to show the world you can poop by pooping in front of everyone. When you're three, it's amusing and something you get congratulating for. Pooping your determined and self imposed ignorance and lack of understanding anything at your age is just horrible for everyone involved.

This is the same argument that the WT (and even we ourselves) used to make when presented with JW false teachings. We would say, "Where else are we to go". In other words, we would reason that the Wt organization was so magnificent that even thinking of going anywhere else was unthinkable. It is not necessary that we have such blind allegiance. There is a middle ground in here.

I have presented the doctrinal statement that atheist scientists adhere to as stated by Professor Lewontin several times over the years. I have never had any atheist deny those tenets on this forum.

Notice the language of bondage and slavery that he uses: acceptance of absurdity and 'just-so' stories, ignoring failure, being compelled, being forced, etc.

Since when did accepting absurdity and forcing ideas have a place in our education institutions? Since, the money trusts said that they did.

We are seeing the same kind of indoctrination in our universities promoting tolerance, respect, political correctness and understanding of Islam. These are ideas that are totally foreign to an Islamic culture toward others. Yet, these appeal to our Western ideas of fairness, while our enemies plot (not just our defeat) but our annihilation.

News Reporter Bridgette Gabriel recently had this to say regarding the education system in America:

No, you haven't because it's impossible. It's a lie. Atheists simply lack belief in god. They aren't organized and don't have "doctrine". Nor do scientists.

    You're being completely dishonest.
