    Oh how embarassing. No, humiliating.

I went for the MRI and had a full out panic attack when the put my head in the box and clamped down on my chin with the camera.

I could NEVER hold that for 40 minutes.

For one thing, I am claustrophobic in the extreme. My baby sitter use to lock me in the closet all day. (Don't ask).

And secondly, I can't swallow without sitting up.

    So. No test.

    Walk of shame.

    Hi again, Terry:

Went Googling "About Terry." Closest was "About Terry Wahls, M.D."

    Take care, mon ami.

Terry, they should have given you some medicine (ativan ?)before you went for the MRI. A lot of people panic when getting a MRI. Don't worry about it, maybe they can try again. I'm glad they are keeping you in the hospital until

they know for sure what type of infection you have. I trust you have an infection specialist on your case. They will find out what has attacked your body. I take care of cancer patients who have no white blood cells with which to

fight off infection and we always get them well. It may just take some time and different iv medications. If you are in D/FW area, I'm sure you have excellent MDs on your case. I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. As you can

see, we are all thinking of you and wishing you well. I hope you have a comfortable, pain free night.

Terry, I'm starting to wonder what lind of frontier hospital you've put yourself in. Does the stagecoach bring supplies on a regular schedule?

Maybe he can arrange a telgraph conference call with people in the big city who have microscopes and know how to identify "germs". they DO accept "germ theory" where you are, don't they? Or are they treating your humours, essences and force vitale?

When you unplug the blockage in your descending colon, beware the lahar of doom!

Coconut oil is rich in medium chain fatty acids which can have anti-viral effect. You may want to het some non-hydrogenated coconut oil from a health food store. It melts at about 76 °F. Put a teaspoon of it in your mouth and let it melt. Repeat this five more times. The fatty acids may help defeat the infection and they will also get some grease down in the lower end to stave off the destruction that your impending lahar promises.

Oh, and the CDC did express concerns about you being a "threat to society" -- are you certain they didn't say "a threat to The Society" which of course you are.

So I am sitting here with my laptop watching the RNC and catching up on our friend, Terry. I swear, I heard a crunching noise and look up to see my wife with a glass of ice tea, chewing ice!!

STOP, I said. and proceeded to remind her that chewing ice is not a good thing to do and related Terry's experience and current situation. She said she will not do it anymore. Better not.

I can't handle codiene pain killer because I can't keep it down.

My uncle started screaming for the techs to let him out of the MRI chamber...roflmao. Those contrapments are horrible. They should have given you meds.

Terry, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Don't be embarrassed about claustrophobia. I have it too. Can't you be sedated for an MRI?

  • Scully

Closed MRIs are not fun at the best of times. I'm not claustrophobic and you couldn't get me to go in one.
