i put $500 monoploy dollars on it being the end of the preaching work.

it doesn't work anyways and now more people are alerting the JW's at the door.

in order to keep the born-in$, they have to sacrifice the door to door new recruit$.

they will say the door of the ark has now closen. this will put them in a dormant waiting state waiting for jeho day of vengance.

meanwhile, if the internet donation buttons starts to pay better than the hall donations, then the halls will go.

you can't trust people talking to each other anyways.

keep the sheep inside, scared, isolated from society and paying online.

donations will probably go up cause many will attempt to make up for sins or guilty feelings.

    and it will work.

they've all been waiting for something big like this to happen.

I hope it's not a dud what ever it is...elders prepare to accept and help others to accept the changes? Sounds serious. Have they used these terms before with meeting changes etc.? Jim_TX has made some good points!

2 wit rule when it comes to children maybe?

They're going to open a Casino!!

    A few points:

It has to be something they are forced into changing probably by legal or financial considerations, changing something like the identification of the F&DS or the 144K won't meet that standard. Besides most dubs will swallow that hook line and sinker. If they're told the all of those scriptures apply just to the GB most of them won't notice. No need to spend a day beating elders over that stuff.

A change in preaching work would meet the standard, but it will be a change not an end to it. I could see them pointing to organized street work as what the early Christians did and citing the fact that people aren't sitting at home these days. They could dodge some liability for the pedo's becuase they'd all be out in public, and they could still require the R&F to turn in reports.

I think tithing would be a major problem for them, but they may try it.

I still think the real target of this exercise is the elders themselves, not the R&F. Whatever it is requires some cooperation from the elders to implement, this suggests they are the ones most effected by it. Maybe legal figured out a way to hang the local BOE's out to dry. Maybe requirig the elders to form their own legal entity, and require that entity to obtain liablility insurance with the WTBS as an additional named insured would do it.

seriously, whatever it is, it probably won't be anything big. If it is big, it will give us a better idea in what direction those assholes are heading because the last decade or so, they've been floating with no direction whatsoever.

What was the last big doctrinal change that made a significant difference? Overlapping generation was nothing big. 1995 generation had a big affect on those who left but otherwise I don't think it was that big. Would 1975 be the last big doctrinal change that actually affected a large group of jws where a visible percentage of jws actually left?

So whatever this will be, it probably will be another snoozy having to do with legal and financial affects of the recent years.

Good point Diamondiiz, It will be interesting to see what happens. I hope to get my family out. Even if people leave by the thousands, the foreign language field will more than make up for the " apostates " who leave. They can groom the next generation of servants and Elders from those poor people. In my own congregation no one has been appointed for 5 years. There are several reasons for this. Most of those reaching out have given up because they are never good enough. Others see the truth and wouldn't take the job if you paid them. Once you reach a certain level of awareness you no longer have anything the corporation desires. It is like the military, if your are not broken before you reach your mid-twenties, you personality is set. Many men have nothing that the society wants. We are too old or too smart. They like 'em young and dumb, and eager to please. Good michrophone handling skills are a bonus!!!!

    Mickey Mouse:

Something in Candace Conti's lawyer's comments makes me wonder if it's to do with the field service. The reason the org was held responsible for Jonathan Kendrick being able to molest children was that he was participating in the ministry as an ordained minister. Perhaps they will make the ministry a personal decision (which they have to know would mean an end to field circus for at least 50% of dubs). Cost saving in literature and less liability for them.

I think you may be onto something. What with the Watch Tower article about changes to the preaching work and the attorney's comments, the big change must involve field service. But as Wasblind pointed out, the Watch Tower already claims that the door to door work is voluntary, so it can't be that the announcement will make it a personal decision to engage in the ministry.

I'm wondering if the Watch Tower will make it a rule that only family members can go out in field service together or forbid children from participating at all. They've already changed the book study to family worship night, so why not change field service into family ministry day?
