    Here's my $.02

Do away with the 144,000 as a literal number?

Reverse their stance on autogulous blood and make it one of conscience?

    Using tracts for field service.

Only sisters can work in D2D ministry.

Changing their stand on Gay Marriage?

    Trans-fats a disfellowshipping offense?

    Alcohol only for annointed?

    Encouraging arranged marriages?

Jesus did die on a cross?

No part of the world means no Government jobs for JW's?

    Tithing?

Prayers must be concluded in the name of Anthony Morris?

    Prayers directed to Sparlock? ;)

no more calls to legal, elders just use your own judgment when applying the clear direction of the organization either you make decisions in line with the food provided or you choose not to,

Why haven't they gotten rid of the Legal Dept in-house, and just set up all the attorneys as their own Law Firm, where WT is just one client, and each congo is a separate client. Each Congo could pay minimal fee for each phone call. Thus, no connection to WT if Cong BOE calls about judicial matter. Keeps WT outta the loop officially / legally. You gonna sue somebody? It will just be the local Congo that doesn't even own the KH.

    Here's a theory -

There was some speculation here that the org were going to release a new book last year but dropped the idea. The did not bring out a new book this year either. It was pointed out that any doctrinal new light is first exposed at the assemblies. It also appeared that there was going to be some new revelation about the toes of the statue in the book of Daniel but that fizzled out as well.

If there is a significant change in doctrine then it would cause a lot of debate even amongst the GB, after all there are at least 6 people to convince and they would need to iron out all the kinks to get the story to flow logically which would take some time.

What better way to test new doctrine than for a JW of some standing to expose the ideas on apostate boards. Where else do they get moe 'insight' and commonsense logical discussions?

I think if there is new doctrine then we have already been exposed to it and the revealer is 20571point428571. He declares himself as an anointed JW in good standing. He joined both here and on topix just over a year ago and has been writing heaps about new interpretations of prophecies in Revalation and other bible books.

20571point428571's basic idea is that all the prophecy fulfillments of Revelation and other books which the org has identified were simply a minor fulfillment. That is everything from 1914 were correct but just identified on a minor level. In the near future we are looking at these prophecies coming to fruition again but as a major and final fulfillment.

With this strategy the org can declare that most of the things they have already interpreted are in fact all correct and valid but because they were just a minor fulfillment they must now look at a new fulfillment of these prophecies. This gives them a completely new slate upon which they can rewrite their interpretations. They could still brag that they are the only one true religion as they were the only ones that have been able to identify this minor and major fulfillment and there would be no need to back peddle on 1914.

This also gets them over the hurdle of re-identifying the King of the North and the two witnesses.

Interesting point Listener, but they don't have anyone with enough smarts to do what you're talking about.

I don't think it will be primarily geared to the pedophile problem. Why would changing the policy be hard for some to accept? I think that it will be these issues in the following order of likelyhood.

    1. Major change in preaching methods, with the door to door ministry being limited.

    2. 144k is now a symbolic number and not literal.

    3. The FDS is clearly the Governing Body. A GB member does not need to be annointed

    4. Blood transfusions will be a conscience matter.

    5. The C/O arrangement will be scrapped.

    6. No more 3 day Conventions.

    7. Inactive ones will be now be considered as disassociated.

    8. An effort will be made to purge the congregations of apostates through increased witchhunts

Come to think of it, I guess they don't NEED people with smarts, they can just steal other people's crap. Just like they stole family home evening from the morons.

    Hi baltar447-

Not that women don't molest children- they do- but the percentage of them compared to men are much less. (No I don't have those statistics)

Also Sisters are not Elders or Ministerial Servants- they have no position of authority or privileges in the Congregation.

But that would not be a doctrinal change.
