    CJ. you DON'T get it.

this thread is not about child rape, nor even about a child rape case, and opinions dont matter...

No, it's not.... it's about people like YOU, arguing technicalities, when that is NOT the issue.

So does familiarity excuse misrepresentation? Does it make it ok to be untruthful? And when people post links to websites that seem dodgy, does it mean we should accept it because you say so? I haven't corresponded with him personally on FB but so what? What does that have to do with his commentary offending me? And the picture being pure sensationalism?

Sizemik. I really respect you as a poster on here, but this time I have to disagree with your opinion. It comes across like when you have a best friend and someone is being mean to them. You know some things presented here just haven't added up. You know why people are going WTF but you still defend him because you are personally involved now and have a connection...your comment 'taking a strong interest' is condescending, as though no one elses opinions matter. We do not Know as much as you therefore talk through our assess. Well, you may be right, but you also may be wrong.

Cyberjesus...I can see where you are coming from...and I am a woman by the way.

Actually tal...it is the issue. No one here is saying child rape is good NO ONE is defending the pedophiles. People are questioning the other things. The picture. the dishonesty, the website. the technicalities. Unfortunately, when someone is caught telling porkies or stretching the truth it puts everything else in question. NO ONE wants to believe the case did not exist. They want proof that it did. You are making it personal. I can see why. But I think it would be good idea to step back and look at what people are actually saying. Not what yo think they are saying. Sizemik, I would say the same to you. SBJ had a valid reason for starting this thread. Just because you can't see that does not make it less valid. And it is not a personal attack on the man. He has a public website. It is a public question.

and please, don't everyone back off now, and be horrified. I am proud to have survived what I did, and I am a THRIVER, not a survivor ... that's why I wished that BT and Gumby were here, because they are the only people, aside from Lady Lee, who seem to be able to talk about this stuff openly and without shame.

xo and to you CJ, as well!

how many of us are perfect? that is the JW mindset.

Did SU make a mistake? Yes! Has he done one thousand times good things to make that mistake seem infinitesimal in the grand scheme of things? Yes! That's all I am saying.

    OY!

Still . . . Steven is not my best friend. I'm more "connected" to a lot of posters here than Steven. So the perception is a false one. I've defended others here for the same reason . . . being misunderstood and taken at face value by those less informed. An informed opinion matters more to me than an uninformed one . . . regardless of who holds it. I'm sorry if that comes across as condescending . . . it's not intended that way. It's just how I roll.

I'm not that emotionally dependent on people I've never met . . . and have acknowledged Stevens lack of judgement way back in this thread. If you didn't see that I'm sorry . . . but I'm past cutting and pasting at this point. The best anyone can do to satisfy their doubts is to email or ring him . . . I know him well enough to assure you he doesn't bite.

Oh, and just sayin' .. we used to talk about this stuff more openly, and you, CJ, would have been 'lessoned' better than I can do,,, but as the board has grown in numbers, people have become more shy about talking about their experiences... there are many that talked freely and openly about their abuse, but that has sure changed in the last few years since the DB has grown in numbers.

In regards to Unthank's Paypal experience:

I was able to find out more information from paypal why they chose to take the action against me is they are of the opinion that a number of paypal accounts in my name have been opened up in different countries around the world. None of these accounts have solicited any money, but they all seem to have been opened up at the exact same time pretending to be me, which then can trigger the computer system to claim that I am opening multiple accounts. So, it appears that there might have been concerted effort to freeze the account. So, if anyone who was a party of that knows about it then that's the thing there. But what I did find out was that it wasn't there whole computer system that picked it up, it was an actual person in Paypal that knew about this and launched the action. Now, Paypal is saying, or claiming, that they rang me and tried to speak to me on the telephone to get that information and what was true I did recieve a telephone call of someone purporting to be from Paypal. Paypal have issued instructions to all people in Australia to never talk on the telephone to anybody about their Paypal account, nor to ever give out any information over the telephone about their Paypal account.

So, I am of the opinion there that they really, really caused me a massive amount of problems, Paypal has, and so did the bank for freezing my account which wasn't related to Paypal. What I did find out from a member of the Jehovah's Witness religion: they came up to me to inform me that one of the family members of a certain member of the religion, that was facing criminal prosecution over my actions, was the person who had control in the bank over my account and are able to access my account. The bank says the bank wont discuss why it was closed and they just gave me my money back after a big stink up.
