so maybe your dilemma isn't a moral one. According to your comments here it seems more to do with protecting your identity, job, or what?

child porn is in the category of black and white right and wrong. Accessing it on a computer makes one an accessory to a heinous crime. Get your evidence together and turn his sick ass in! I would not wait one minute. If you don't get any response from local law enforcement go to the media. Screw the WatchTower Bible and Tract Society. As you have found out, they do not CARE!

Thx for your balanced & independant viewpoint Cofty, though when did I mention child abuse??? I mentioned this guy has been careful to mask his desires carefully within his search paremeters. Yes he is abusive with the r&f, hence as I said in a previous post, so many other elders are to get this "fellow elder"

Under-age porn by definition involves children. If they are being photographed in sexual activity this is child abuse. There is no such thing as "child porn" there are only child-abuse images. If he is viewing this sort of material you have a legal and moral duty to turn him in to the police. If he is not you should not have said he was viewing under-age porn.

As I said you have given enough info to identify him in this thread. I think he sounds like a total prick by the way but apparently not the criminal your OP suggests

The legality of the elder's web history is for you to decide and only you can know if he's committed a crime or a works disciplinary matter.

However you talk about a moral dilemma, which is different. We're talking about a highly respected and well used elder here who has the responsibility to be exemplary to the flock. You have the responsibility to make known his persistant deviant behaviour to the BOE as soon as possible. Your actions may be a protection to children in the congregation or women in general because you never know just how far the elder will take his fantasies.

Turn over any relevant documental COPIES of proof you have. (I say copies as originals might "disappear" if the elder has influence)

Then let the matter be dealt with accordingly. I'm pretty sure it'll be one less hypocritical elder to worry about.

And as for the "wait on Jehovah" line, well perhaps Jehovah is using you to bring this to light?

Is there anything at all that gives you reason to beleve he has viewed under-age porn (ie sex or nudity involving persons below the age of consent, not 18, 19 year olds) or to beleive that he is any more of a danger to minors than any other man who views porn?

If so tell th epolice. If not stop allowing this view to go on being entertained in this thread. you have already said enough to publicly identify him.

Cofty, from whatI have seen first hand, i think he is a sleeze bag. I dont think he is a threat to any minors in the congo, otherwise, yes I would have gone to the police (thank you Gregor). I actually think he is a threat more to the older ladies in the congo. (he has a wide taste in websites & from whom I see he flirts with)....

He is a hypocrite. not a pedo. though from his website visits and searches he obviously has strong inclinations. Crofty, to be fair, I outed mysely to Brooklyn bethel and of the offender and of his habits. I see a lot of emphasis put on underage porn...difficult to prove, but as far as I know bestiality is illegal in most western countries. That is much easier to prove, since it is a black and white issue. I would also think that viewing porn at work is a termination offense...I know that in our company, if IT sees that certain sites are visited on work computers, the person is subject to discipline up to termination. It would seem that at the very least, this individual is at risk for his job...

Boyzone, we printed off copies off web log ins and history showing there could have only been 1 person who could have logged into at these times, in fact the user name clearly has this elders name at the top of the page. Again, our MD wanted noting to do with it (due to his own porn addiction).

Crofty, if you know your subject, the biggest dilemma that the police have world wide is identifying victims who are under age, hence the internet search boundaries that ones like our elder colleague use.

No, he could be one of 1000 elders in western Melbourne and my op didnt make him out to be a criminal. Sorry, but dont know where you are coming from mate.

It sounds like there may be a little personal vendetta here. If you are in the IT field you should know what you can legally do and not do. If he is breaking the law contact the authorities. If he is not, why not move on with your life? Be aware that if you stir the pot about a guy looking at legal porn you may create a headache you do not need to be involved with. If it is your job to report him to his superiors, do so, if not, be a professional and keep your mouth shut. (Admittedly turning him in would be fun)

If there is real evidence of child porn, there should be no "moral dilemma", contact the authorities and let them investigate.

Why don't just print out some of what he has been doing and deliver it to the cong? out him to the entire cong? disgrace him in his place of power. Eventually word will get around and Bethel or your Bethel will take care of the scumbag.
