    Hi isaac

Well it is for Jehovah to judge if they are taking and doing his direction seriously but both these IMO show they are taking it seriously.

I see no others taking this preaching work as biblically seriously or taking on the responsibility of these people afterwards too.

Your right China and a few other very governmentally controlled countries severely curtailg witnesses but that is not our doing and You mi be surprised though about how much preaching work actually is done undercover in them.

We as witnesses take very seriously our right and command to do this God-given work as God's people.

    2 Timothy 4:2
Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. 3 For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.

I'd start with "Actions speak louder than words". Where is the charity, do they work to save the body starving in this world before preaching the new one? Does the Watchtower have the charitable presence of Catholic Relief Services, for example?

    Debator,

Group is immaterial as that is not what saves a person. Evangelical Christians do not preach the book of Mormons. In fact years ago I remember reading about how they were being persecuted in Mexico for their activity.

My reply: Sure, the members take it seriously. But the fact that much of what they have preached is false prophecy, and none of it is the good news Paul preached, their efforts are for naught, serving man.

Witnesses (like other Christian faiths) pick and choose which parts of the Bible they follow. For example, they don't spend a lot of time on verses like this.

    James 1:27 (New International Version)

27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

    Matthew 19:21

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

    Luke 18:22

When Jesus heard this, he said to him, "You still lack one thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

    Hi carla

The first century christians believed in One God, the Father! Witnesses are the first Christian group in 1700 years to go back to Preaching about Jehovah our Almighty God THROUGH his son Jesus and not putting his son Jesus in his father's place.

    1 Corinthians 8:6
yet for US there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.

If you disagree with this fair enough. Trinitarians do indeed have a completely different understanding of the make-up of God so if they are what you consider correct you could say they have managed to get world-wide in belief but remember the scripture says.

The preaching work is preached to the entire world as a sign of the last days so they do not fulfil this requirement if they did their preaching work centuries ago.

Please explain how JWs are "preaching the good news worldwide", when all of their doctrines are false, their leaders routinely lie to... ooops, sorry... use Theocratic War Strategy™ on the followers and the public, and cover up the sexual abuse of children by JWs.

Considering that all those things have, do and are occurring within the JWs, there's no way that anything JWs have to offer in terms of "preaching the good news" is worth the price of admission.

So you all accept that they do preach world-wide and you only point of contention is that it cannot be the right message so they are wrong?

No. They do not preach world-wide. They might cover half the world...barely. But a good 3 billion people have never heard of JWs or Jehovah nor seen a Watchtower.

That always begs the question if it isn't the witnesses doing this prophecy who is?

Christ said, "will be preached." He didn't say, "one specific organization will preach." Christianity as a whole IS known worldwide, unlike Jehovah's Witnesses. Even in remote China you could probably ask someone if they have heard of Jesus Christ and they'd say, "yes." Matthew 24:14 is not a prophecy that applies to a group of people but rather to a message, and that message is not about Jehovah's universal sovreignty, it is about salvation through Jesus Christ's kingdom.
