Stephen Hawking knows more about heaven than Jesus did.

The funny thing about statements like the OP made is that even if Jesus had spoken about quantum physics, they would discount that too. After all, they would say, how could those illiterate fishermen, even comprehend a science that had not been discovered.

You can' t have your cake and eat it too.

A Christian says, I may have some doubts about Jesus, but I choose to believe it all happened, by faith

A Jew/atheist has doubts about Jesus and he says I choose not to believe until I have realproof, not hearsay.

But Moshe, if you're Jewish, doesn't that mean you believe in God? If so, where is your real proof about Him?

@ Moshe: I'm curious, what is your definition of "hearsay", and how did you come to that conclusion?

Jews that I know believe in man first, they believe that it's up to Humans to make the world a better place- man provides the knowledge and sweat. Yes, I believe in G-d, but I also believe He has no direct affect on my life. When six million Jews died in the Holocaust that pretty much showed Jews the value of prayer offered to a G-d who dwells in heaven. General Eisenhower (raised in a Russellite home) freed the Jews, not G-d.

    Well, then, carry on.

I know of a sure cure for believing in the power of a religion- unfortunately, the cure will be short lived. Hopefully, I won't be alive when this final test arrives, We will have plenty of advance notice to pray for a rescue thanks to the scientists who know about such things. -

And a self professed Christian writing about Christ does?

The moment I read ANYTHING written by a christian about Christ I assume there will be bias.

Come on, PSac, we've had a lot of discussions and a lot of fun too. You had to know the first thing I would do is research the guy :)

Now, I will tell you, one of the things I DON'T like about Dawkins is the way he treats people like idiots sometimes for having faith. I won't ever do that.

The Jews of the time, and in the early decades after Christianity got started, never went after the fact that Jesus did whatever Christians claim he did.

    Think about that.

There were no writings about Jesus until about 7 decades after. Jesus wasn't even a footnote in contemporary writings. The LACK of anyone caring enough to bother writing anything speaks volumes. Not only was no one denying he did anything, they apparently didn't care that he did anything, either.

So using your logic, you have no cake and you don't get to eat a cake either...

A common misconception is that being jewish implies a certain beleif system.

You're right, and I had thought being Jewish implied a certain belief system until I read your response about being Jewish by birth on another thread. But I thought Moshe believed in God since he went from JW to Jewish. (Moshe was a baptist in there too, I think)
