part 11 he just goes off into his own explanation of how Abraham could have been said to be with God. he doesn't even mention the bible itself allows for the angel of God to represent him as the answer.

    Judges 6:12-14 (New International Version)

12 When the angel of the LORD appeared to Gideon, he said, "The LORD is with you, mighty warrior."

13 "But sir," Gideon replied, "if the LORD is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all his wonders that our fathers told us about when they said, 'Did not the LORD bring us up out of Egypt?' But now the LORD has abandoned us and put us into the hand of Midian."

14 The LORD turned to him and said, "Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian's hand. Am I not sending you?"

booby the bible itself allows for people and things to be called 'a god' I did not inspire the bible. if only Jesus was called 'a god' maybe there would be an argument but satan, moses , angels are all called 'a god's' in the bible so you really should be asking God why he allowed this!

    Genesis 1 (New International Version)
    Genesis 1
    The Beginning

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Nice and simple, God was there at the beginning and He made the universe.

    John 1 (New International Version)
    John 1
    The Word Became Flesh

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

OK in the beginning was God and also the Word (Jesus). How could that be. Where did Jesus appear from?

Now if God created Jesus as JWs believe then this statement false as it is gramatically wrong and should read something like

"In the beginning was God, and the Word became and was a god."

You see, the Word could not be with God in the beginning in JW theology because only God was in the beginning as Genesis 1:1 and Isaiah 43:10 states.

    All the best,

    Genesis 18 (American Standard Version)
    Genesis 18

    1 And Jehovah appeared unto him by the oaks of Mamre, as he sat in the tent door in the heat of the day;

2 and he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, lo, three men stood over against him: and when he saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed himself to the earth

Interesting how Jehovah appeared to Abraham as three men?!

The Christian doctrine of the Trinity teaches the unity of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as three persons in one Godhead.[1] The doctrine states that God is the Triune God, existing as three persons, or in the Greek hypostases,[2] but one being.[3] Each of the persons is understood as having the one identical essence or nature, not merely similar natures.

reniaa, where does the bible say that these various are "a" god or gods. The expression "godlike" etc. is/are used but where other than the NWT is "a" god used in reference to others flesh or spirit.

    hi chalam

lol thx for agreeing on proverbs the bible, often predicts things before they happen or things only God could know and inspire.

Just saw it to the end bible bible jim was congratulating himself. he shut down the Jw with effected methods diverting to the other guy if it looked like the main Jw was going to bring a scripture in he didn't want to address. he is clearly intelligent and knows his bible but I can't decide whether he knew the scriptures that refute some of his views hmmm

I also think those two maybe bogus witnesses for the sake of the youtube or maybe just ones that are fairly new to these deep doctrinal arguments.

    either there is no trinity

    or the bible contradicts itself...

those are the only two answers. That bible jim guy was really reaching for straws, and the JWs were dull.

Reniaa - Would you agree that JW's wouldn't need this lengthy and roundabout explanation for Isa 43:10,11 if they simply translated John 1:1 in line with mainstream scholarship? It seems that once you start manipulating scripture to suit your theology it has a compounding effect on complexity of thought required to understand what seems quite simple otherwise.

Incidentally are you Janko from allexperts.com? In any case thanks for the cut and paste from that site. Don't you think properly referencing your cut and paste might have been a bit more honest?

I have shown the scriptures earlier in this topic, psalms talks of gods, moses is called 'a god' by Jehovah. Jesus himself talks of them being called gods he was refering to psalms to explain he was not being blasphemous by saying he was god's son.
