I really believe this is the true religion. Even prophecy of how "ravenous wolves" would come into the flock is evident in the postings on this site and in the elders of all our congregations. Not to mention countless others that are less harmful to us.

Is is true that we are the chosen ones, and all the rest are satans slaves? Maybe there are those who think so, but we all agree that God will sort them out, I just don't think he'll kill them all first. Some will sort themselves out by their obedient course in following the direction of his imperfectly run perfect organization. Others wil lsort themselves out by their rebellious spirit. My own family has examples of both, so I feel thepain of those who struggle with the same issues I do

As we live our lives to the best of our abilities we all screw up. What we think is best is not the same across the board, and each of us has to look at the others through their eyes and not be judgemental about it. Jehovah is the only one who can give perfect counsel, and as I recall the only one who ever applied it perfectly was his son. He was the only one ever judged worthy of a relaionship with Jehovah after his early trial run. Make the best of yours and try to let others do to. Don't stir the pot we all know it stinks enough already

Why is it the true religion? Just because you believe it?

The prophecy you refer to is in matthew 7;15 where Jesus says to " be on the watch for false prophets that come to you in sheeps covering but inside they are ravenous wolves."

Are you for real? The people who post on this forum are an application of this prophecy being fulfilled?

The wtbts are the perfect match for Jesus counsel they ARE FALSE PROPHETS and have admitted such in court under oath.

Many of the people on this forum have nothing to do with your "flock of God" and we are hardly wearing sheep's coverings in any case.

Who are you and why have you joined this site? Are you an active JW?. If so why come on a site like this to air your views? Jw's are warned not to have fellowship with ex members.

I don't get your ambigous reference to elders and countless others who are less harmful either, please explain.

What do you mean when you say

"Is it true that we are the chosen ones, and all the rest are satans slaves? Maybe there are those who think so, but we all agree that God will sort them out, I just don't think he'll kill them all first. Some will sort themselves out by their obedient course in following the direction of his imperfectly run perfect organization.

These are quite big issues to not have straight in your head , don't you think? JW's are God's chosen and the rest controlled by Satan. That is quite a thought but that is precisely what you must believe if you are a Jw.

And no we don't "all agree" that "God will sort them out". That is Jehovah's Witnesses primary weapon , fear.

Also you state that it's a "perfect organization run imperfectly" What on earth does that mean? That if Jesus was sitting behind the desk at Brooklyn it would all be rosy in the garden? The teaching is that Jesus IS running the show, only from heaven. That's what the term "God's organization" implies. But the many hurtful and deathdealing teachings and lies/falsehoods perpetrated by "this" organisation comlpetely destroy such a notion.

You state that some will "sort themselves out by following the direction of the organisation". Does that include those who followed this "direction" in the 1970's to refuse an organ transplant? Oh no it can't because they are dead. Sorted. Permanently.

You are right when you say we all screw up but what about when the wts screw up? It's just that they are imperfect eh? So why follow them.

You are welcome to your views as you rightly state , not judge others. However that same luxury is not afforded to those who disagree with the wts and their teachings even if you have done nothing wrong. You are out the door.

You are right when you say that God is perfect in his counsel so why would you listen to a bunch of guys who don't know any better than you?

"man has dominated man to his injury" " it does not belong to man even to direct his step" etc etc etc

What's this nonsense about Jesus being "on a trial run"? and him being "judged worthy" of "a relationship" ??? Don't you read the Bible?

John 1:1 " in the begining the word was WITH God" i.e. IN A RELATIONSHIP!! the word was DEVINE... i.e. the same nature as God.

And actually if you read the Bible you would see that we are all able to become son's of God and in a relationship with him through Jesus sacrafice.

That pot you just posted sure did stink.

I think reniaa has said it enough, and she's obviously here to "debate". debating turns "it" on!

personally, I don't consider myself a scholar.... so i leave the heavy stuff to whoever merits it.

my only conclusions is that the watchtower writers are not scholars, since they try to prove points by "partial quoting" sources

@ sad michael If "Jehovah's" PERFECT organisation is run IMPERFECTLY, then doesn't that then make it IMPERFECT ?

If something is perfect, then it has no flaw. Is the WTBTS without flaw?

Have they made FALSE PROPHECIES? (deut 20: 18-20) READ PROCLAIMERS BOOK page 630 onwards and count how many DATES they predicted certain events to happen on. Read how many of these dates 'passed by' with nothing happening. Read how they also use the excuses that they were imperfect men who made mistakes, were over enthusiastic, were well meaning and willing you , the reader, to see that their motivation was with the best of intentions.

This AWAKE oct 8th, 1968, pg 23 .- shows the org. condeming others, yet don't realize they are condemning themselves by their own words.

"True, there have been those in times past who predicted and "end to the world", even announcing SPECIFIC DATES. Some have gathered groups of people with them and fled to the hills or withdrawn into their houses waiting for the end. Yet NOTHING happened. The "end DID NOT come". They were guilty of FALSE PROPHESYING. Why? What was missing?

Missing was the full measure of evidence required in fulfillment of bible prophecy. Missing from such people were God's truths, and the evidence that he was GUIDING and USING them."

    Other Flaws

USE OF PYRAMIDOLOGY (1 cor 10 : 2) "THE DIVINE PLAN OF THE AGES" written by Russell in( 1886 ) Contains a chart linking the ages of mankind with the ~Great Pyramid of Egypt. The length of certain passages and measurements of the internal chambers in the pyramid was said to be full of scriptural meaning and even indicated the time for the beginning of the Great Tribulation. Other dates verified by this use of the pyramid - 1874, 1914 and 1925. It was believed that this pyramid was built under God's direction. (The way to paradise book 1924 - "It's harmony with the Bible teachings prove that God designed it".) Since then all the evidence has pointed to the fact that it wasn,t constructed at Gods direction. It was a monument erected to ASTROLOGY. They made this clear in ( WT Dec 1st, 1928). For 42Yrs this thought of the pyramid was taught in the WT organization. ( 2 cor 6 : 14, 15).

HISTORY OF FLUCTUATING TEACHINGS... eg. "This Generation" Changes in org are viewed as progressive, but with regard to other religions, any changes or contradictions in their teachings are somehow "wrong" or proof that they are "false".

Whatever changes that come they will be announced as the product of 'divine revelation '. Doctrines and teachings can, will and have been discarded and been replaced by NEW LIGHT but ask yourself.....If god is directing the WTS by means of his holy spirit, how is it possible that doctrines that were taught for decades are now WRONG? Why does he allow his Channel to teach errors and make false prophecies? Why is the entire history littered with doctrinal reversals? Does God make mistakes? Is God learning new things all the time and that's why there's new light being sent so that he can clean up all the things he got wrong? Does the Holy Spirit purposely mislead people?

CHILD ABUSE POLICY They take no action unless there is a confession or there are TWO credible witnesses. They base this flawed reasoning on the scripture at (deut 19 : 15). If the person denies the accusation and there are not 2 witnesses, then there are virtually no repercussions and no-one besides the elders ever knows. The abuser is free to still roam the kingdom hall and assemblies. All problems, even of this nature are encouraged to be taken to the elders FIRST, who in turn phone the LEGAL DEPT., and then @maybe' the police will be involved. The victim then has to be at the KH knowing the paedophile will also be in attendance. If the victim speaks of this, they can be accused of slander, and can be disfellowshipped.

MEMBERSHIP WITH UNITED NATIONS Rev Book chap 33 para 16,17,21 Depicts the UN as a blaspemous org. that has the corrupt religions of the world prostitute themselves with it. Rev Book pg 248 , WT 1st may, 1999 pg 17, WT march 15th, 1990 pg 8 , - describes the UN as a revival of the "wild beast". The org, claims that the UN is the beast of revelation, and the enemy of God, yet they quietly entered into a relationship with it for 10yrs. (see THE GUARDIAN newspaper (UK) oct. 8th, 2001).

There are many more things that could be mentioned , but to be honest , only one of the above would suffice in proving how flawed, this organization really is. In my opinion, my staying a part of this org. meant that I was a vote in support of all of the above. Please research these things for yourself and please tell me and everyone else on this board that you still think this to be a "perfect" organization. Do you really think Jehovah would be proud to have his name attatched to it ? Are you proud to have your name attatched to it ?

    SadMichael said;

Sure we miss the mark sometimes, but what GOOD does it accomplish to beat the dead horse of contradicting public talks or WT articles.

You said, too...that 'we all screw up sometimes...', right ? And as JW's...weren't we all punished ? Disfellowshipped, public/private reproof, losing our "Good Standing" in the congregation and "losing 'privileges' " ? And, what kind of punishment we received depended on one BIG factor -- we must be very sorry for whatever we did, we had to make amends to those we wronged and sincerely repent, right ?

"Some will sort themselves out by their obedient course in following the direction of his imperfectly run perfectorganization."

So...what do YOU think should happen if/when the Governing Body "...screws up..." ? Do YOU think they ever have "...screwed up..." ? Indeed...can they ? If they do -- how should they make amends and then repent ?

If you truly want to understand why there are 'ex' Jehovah's Witnesses, please answer. Please remember, tho'...we are all individuals here, just like you. We all have our own reasons.

Sad Michael, you will be pleased to hear you are not alone in your belief. There are millions of people around the world who also feel the same way. Despite persecution their ranks continue to grow indicating God's blessing on their organization.

You would think all of the above would be ample evidence that mormons are the true religion, wouldn't you? After all, 15 million people can't be wrong, can they?

This is the problem with provincial thinking.

    Nice one!

There are lots of groups who have exactly the same critieria as JW's do and claim to be the true relligion.

Jesus and the appostles thought they were in the true religion too you know. There is nothing wrong with believing you are in the true religion but you are responsible for the choice you make. Choose wisely!

The bible Gods word points to there being on one truth and that God's followers would recognise it.

    John 4:23
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.

When it comes to my children asking me what things mean they rarely pick up long words at the kingdom hall I have a bigger issue with swear words they pick up at school when they ask me what certain four letter words mean.

BTW I made all the points I want to make on this subJect any further ones would repetition of what I've said before.

Reniaa, Perhaps your choice of words shows that you haven't truly grasped the whole concept at all.....

"Jesus and the apostles thought they were in the true religion too you know. There is nothing wrong with believing you are in the true religion"

You are correct to say the above, but does that extend to everything?

I believe that the earth is flat. I'm entitled to believe that eh? Even in the face of overwhelming evidence to the contrary?

Firstly Jesus "thought he was in" the true religion? Are you deliberately TRYING to make ill thought out ignorant statements?

Jesus was the way , the truth and the life. He WAS THE "RELIGION".

Being a Christian isn't the way you percieve it at all. It's following Christ not "being in the true religion" which as you still haven't answered password's question we'll presume you don't do.

Being a JW IS a religion. Following Christ is a life course and a path.

Thanks for the advice about choosing wisely too. I have . I left following the Governing Body of the wts and started following Jesus.

Don't know what point you wre making re. your kids and certain words btw? A bit off topic.

    H.K.
