INCULCATE IMPORTANCE OF MEETING ATTENDANCE
A child needs Bible instruction if he is going to have everlasting life. ( John 17 :3 ). If a child is going to learn to appreciate spiritual things, meeting attendance is necessary. At times, parents hesitate to bring children to meetings because they fear the children will disturb others. Some may leave children at home to do their school work. The wise parent however brings his children to the meetings. (deut 31 :12)
"The first thing a child should learn from infancy is that he goes to the kingdom hall to listen........."
There are many similar articles in the literature that encourage parents to bring their children along to all the meetings, encouraging them to listen and even participate. In the KM 2 / 04 , 1 -- It emphasises that meetings are a priority over everything....jobs, school homework and housework. It again mentions children and says that ---
"Young ones attend meetings with parents primarily to listen and learn." Nothing here says that attending meetings is optional. This has to be drummed into them from INFANCY ! You are taught that the meetings will benefit your children. How on earth can a talk about OS benefit children or infants. In Jah's arrangement, meetings are for children too........BUT CERTAIN SUBJECTS AREN'T !
Cor 14 : 40 But let ALL things take place DECENTLY and by arrangement.
Adult subjects should be discussed with an adult audience. NOT in front of children. It is indecent to let a subject like this reach the ears of young ones barely out of nappies. If children are to be present at every meeting then subjects like this should never be aired in the kingdom hall.
