    "JEHOVAH sees all that is happening in his organization ".

    **** That statement alone is arrogant and presumptuous, SadMichael. So Jehovah's Witnesses are God's organization then? Does this mean that non JW's are from Satan's organization and soon to be destroyed unless becoming a JW?

    See what I mean? You should stop and think before writing such comments. It can be considered as offensive to other people. Especially EX-JW's, who are now being shunned, labeled and judged... and have lost many things and people including immediate family solely for leaving the Watchtower Society and Jehovah's Witnesses.

    Does this sound fair to you?

    Sadmichael then says:

    "Sure we miss the mark sometimes"...

    ***** Ill say they do. Take one whiff of this: http://www1.tip.nl/~t661020/wtcitaten/part2.htm

    Michael, if JW's were not so unbelievably haughty and self righteous, then I think there would be some room for harmony here. But this is simply not the way it is.

    And the first sentence I quote from you only goes to prove my point. And the link I posted proves God has not chosen Watchtower for anything. Be reasonable here.

    The only people that believe God has chosen JW's for anything are indoctrinated JW's themselves. Once people take off the blinders, they get a very different picture of the JW faith.

    I hope you are here with eyes and heart wide open Sadmichael; rather than to start a fight you cannot win.

    Just ask Reniaa...

    Best,

    Vinny

    P.S. Welcome to the JWN SadMichael!

What you are is an attention seeking contrarian with some knowledge of the doctrines of the Watchtower. Sorry, I'm not playing along with your game any more.

    I'm with you Dave, I realized Reniaa was not really here for discussion but ultimatly for trollism and craves the attention these threads create for her. But I have to admire posters like P.Protected, Ms Jones, and others that will continue to call her on her BS. There are newbies to this forum almost everyday, and it's easy to be suckered into thinking she's sincere about arguing JW doctrine.

    @ independent_tre - it's been pointed out that people like me jump all over Reniaa's posts and it's been suggested that maybe that's not fair. But the point you raise is exactly why I do it; she falsely represents the teachings of the Governing Body, she defends the Governing Body and tries to elevate their words.

    I'm not in a mind-control cult anymore, so I get to call people like that out....

    @ sad michael;

    Have you all lost the ability to get the sense of it ? The idea is that if he (satan) gets enough dirt stirred up we'll not be able to see the truth

    JEHOVAH sees all that is happening in his organization, and relies on us to either sort out the truth from the muck or forgive anyone who can't/doesn't.

    All of us should be ashamed when we blame Brooklyn and the GB for our own lack of holy spirit in dealing with the flock whether we are elders or publishers. It's not our flock it's JESUS' he is the fine shepard and all the rest are, at best clever imitations. Sure we miss the mark sometimes, but what GOOD does it accomplish to beat the dead horse of contradicting public talks or WT articles. Just keep putting up with one another and pray for holy spirit to guide us so that our own clean conscience can stay that way. This not only applies to the marriage bed, but to the car group if we partake in tearing apart our own brothers and sisters.

    I love you all, but can't we just get along???

    I seem to see alot of JW bashing going on here.............where's the love?

    Firstly, welcome to JWN. It's interesting to see another 'newbie' appear on this thread, you along with Pilchard.

    You said;

    I'm let the comment about Jehovah's organization pass. But I do wish to pick up on this point about Jehovah relying "on us" to sort out the truth from the muck. I personally have already done that. My wife and I spent almost 3 weeks solidly studying WTS doctrine to prove to ourselves it was the truth from the Bible. We were unable to find any truth in WTS doctrine. So, having sorted out the truth from the muck, we ceased attending JW meetings and promoting their doctrine in the public ministry.

    However, now that we'd done that, exactly how - in your estimation - could we have an impact on the organisation? Would the organisation listen to us when we showed them from the Bible who they were - by Biblical definition - false prophets? Well, we spoke to the local elders. They dismissed what we had to say. Through time we left and were disassociated by our actions.

    I'm sorry but, why are we not to blame the Governing Body? They write the articles. They alone claim to have God's Holy Spirit. They teach that they are the "mediators between us and the deep things of God" and that we should first of all go to their publications to find spiritual truth. Please explain who we should blame when they print erroneous teachings and false prophecies or when they teach that organ transplants = eating another person?

    As for "our own lack of holy spirit", Jehovah's Witnesses are told they can only "cultivate the fruits of the spirit" and that the "faithful and discreet slave" only have true access to the Holy Spirit, having been anointed by it.

    If a JW wishes to continually argue that the Governing Body is right and within their jurisdiction to interfere with marital relations, then I'm pretty sure people like me on this forum will argue that, actually, they have no such right. You say "contradicting public talks or WT articles" as if these are infallible and not open to contradiction. These articles and outlines are written by men who freely admit to being imperfect and uninspired, yet these same men say what they write is not to be questioned or criticised. Does that really make sense to you?

    You said;

    Just keep putting up with one another and pray for holy spirit to guide us so that our own clean conscience can stay that way.

    I've already done that. I prayed intently for the Holy Spirit daily during our period of examining WT doctrine. Guess what, the Spirit of Truth - the one that Christ promised - led us to see from the Bible that the WTS has no right to claim to be God's mouthpiece on earth. So, with a clean conscience, forgiven by the shed blood of my Saviour Christ, I left the Watch Tower Society and stepped into the glorious light of truth from my Master Christ. He set me free with his shed blood, just as he promised he would in the Bible.

    I praise and worship him alone as my leader, teacher, king and saviour.

    I don't see any JW bashing. JWs are people who have been misled by a powerful, wealthy corporation in New York. The bashing you're seeing here is the bashing of that very corporation that has enslaved the minds of our families, our friends, our loved one and has done so in the name of God.

    So, welcome to the board, great to have you here.

    yes and even for non newbies like myself, in checking the WT library I was very struck by how much the BG has the elders by the *******.

    edit: BTW I attended a meeting on sunday and omg, they are sounding more and more like a cult. The speaker was almost literally spitting venom. It looks to me like in reducing the talk to half an hour he kept all the denunciatory bits. I didn't clap when he'd finished. Afterwards even my hubby said the talk was over the top.

    Reniaa have you attended a meeting recently?

    What I wonder is......... , If parents sit and listen to talks on Oral sex and similar subjects with their children by their sides at the Kingdom Hall and feel its ok, purely because it is in the Kingdom Hall, would these same parents let their kids watch TV progs with this content, or read books on the subject ? Methinks not some how. Also , what about those in a divided home ? What does dad do when wee Johnny comes home and asks him what oral sex is cos this is what he learned at the meeting today. As an outsider , what would people think, and would this cause problems for the JW parent trying to explain to their partner how its Jehovah looking after them ?

    Welcome Sad Michael!

    I seem to see alot of JW bashing going on here.............where's the love?

    I agree.

    Obviously, there are many ex JWs here who have no love for anything WT.

    However, the WT never gave us the bible, only their interpretation of it.

    For the christians here, this speaks for itself-please use it as the yardstick when posting!

    1 Corinthians 13 (New International Version)

    4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

    8 Love never fails.

    With love,

    Stephen xx

    Well, because while you think it is Jesus' flock, it is not Jesus who sets and (mis)applies the rules. It is elders; don't use the word imperfect about them. That is too kind; they are unequipped to do a job they should not be doing, which is policing the private sex lives of people, married and unmarried.

    I would ask: what good does it do to accept unreasonable standards without complaining? If we are damaged as a result, you know that the WT will say that we submitted and it is our fault.

    WAKE UP.
