Sunday Public talk that talked about oral sex

It's not like many dubs give a shit anyways.

While this is true for some, it's not true for everyone. As I previously mentioned, Irvine Congregation in Ayrshire felt a local needs talk was necessary. What that did to relationships is anyone's guess, and I shudder at what the kids in the congregation thought.

Also, whether or not JWs actually care what the Governing Body has to say about this intimate matter, that facts are that they've no clue what Song of Solomon is about and they've no business butting in, especially when - in the 70s at least - so many of them were aged virgins.

Good point password. I think that elders will be more sensitive to it then the flock, since they have to review their ks 91 books frequently.... I still think the effect will be marginalized as time goes on...

Is what it amounts to is they know all the rank and file enjoy oral sex and who wouldn’t? I think in Bethel there might be too much kinky sex H&M and the like, and walls are so thin that the GB has seen fit in their great wisdom to pretend they don’t want it also. No one is gettinng any sleep withh all the ruckus at night.

"hi primate you actually make my point if the most recent article you can find that actually states it is 40 years ago 1969 that is the point i'm trying to make. i'm pretty sure the Gb now stay out of the marriage bed although I think the bible agrees with them on on avoiding homosexual acts even with married couples.

To be honest the gulf between those that avoid fornication before marriage and current public opinion is widening and they will soon be seen as weird on this point from the majority too. especially if christendom also allows fornication as a norm to be accepted as it does other unbiblical practices now."

Reneeia, you MISS the point entirely. This has been policy for a very long time; they have NEVER EVER said that oral or anal sex between husband and wife are permissible. The most tolerant they have ever been is to say that it is wrong, but it is not for elders to pry.

But here is the thing: the men who heard the very radical opinion of this from the WT in the 60's and 70's, that it was a DF'ing offense, are STILL around. They have not moderated their view.

    WAKE UP.

I feel this should have been an 'adults only' talk... but I see they like to include the teens and the young ones too.

I would like a clarification on 'masturbation'. Is this strictly physical stimulation of the genitals to achieve orgasm?

If so, then it's cool if one can physically pleasure oneself without physically touching oneself, correct?

FYI … LadyLee has started another topic on Human Sexuality entitled “I know you all think I'm a prude lol but … “ which I think will be quite 'stimulating'!

Reniaa is much more OUT than she leads on here. I guess she tries to put on her JW poker face while on JWD

This is a thread she started just two mos ago on Topix:

Hopefully she is beginning to open her eyes and view the Watchtower Society in an honest light. Even if she seems outright obstinate here.

I ain't gettin' in the "is it" or "ain't it" fornication debate (that's been discussed ad nauseum) but I will comment on the posts that said that this type of talk was "adult only" or should be.

The problem with trying to make this an "adult only" talk is that the Society doesn't have a system for "children only" or "adult only". They don't have Sunday School or Bible Camp or any other program for children or young teens. Everyone is thrown together all the time, every time. If it's good enough for the adults, it's good enough for the kids.

The Society claims that this is a better way of teaching Bible truths, but actually it's just another case of trying to be different for different sakes.

The Society claims that everything discussed at their meetings is family friendly as it is Bible based and for all age groups, thus no need for special classes due to age. One can argue whether children should be hearing discussion about sexual matters, but the Society does say it's better to be frank about sexual matters with children, which I agree with...to a point. But since so many in attendance are from all age groups, there is bound to be some in attendance that don't need to be present for such discussions.

I've heard people talk about the violence of the Bible. Indeed, if many of the stories of the Bible were made into movies, they would be rated R. Passion of the Christ was rated R (US) and that movie was based on the same material that children's Bible stories are based on.

The issue I have is that they'll say be frank about these discussions on one hand, yet on the other hand trot out that "be babes as to badness" scripture to counsel adults from enjoying any entertainment that is intended for mature audiences.

So it's okay for kids to hear this mature themed talk on sexual matters, yet it's not okay for a mature Christian to go to an R-rated movie that deals in adult themes. "Okay kids, we're gonna talk about oral sex. Be sure to pay attention to see what God hates. What is oral sex? We'll, when you're older you'll know." versus "No, we won't be watching The Graduate on TV tonight. It deals with adult matters, so I thought it best to adhere to the Society's counsel about being 'babes as to badness'".

But I guess trying to control one's sexual habits is the same as trying to control one's entertainment habits. "Be babes as to badness" applies to all JWs as if they were children. I guess it's okay to them to talk about these sexual matters because in the end they're condemning them, thus setting up the control early in children's minds about what is allowed or not allowed. Create a fear of these things and hopefully (in the WTS view of thinking) they'll grow up afraid to experiment with such "lurid" practices.

    @ Vinny

Nice work Columbo, how did you dig that one up?

I think you should start a thread with that link.

People need to know exactly where she really stands.

Reniaa has her "face for the ministry" on when she's on here, pretending that the sun shines out of the GB's asses, thanks for letting us see the real deal.
