    Hi Farkel,

I'm sorry I missed that post - it was made while I was fighting the Angel of death and decomposure, but even that excuse doesn't excuse me.

Since I believe that it is too much t o ask anyone to click a link, I've taken the liberty of re-posting your lyrics here. They are, naturally, WAY better than mine.

50 Ways to Leave Your "Mother" by Farkel, with apologies to Paul Simon

The problem is all inside your head he said to me,
The answer is easy if you take it logically.

I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free,
There must be 50 ways to leave your "Mother."

He said it's really not my habit to intrude,
Furthermore, I hope my meaning won't be lost
    or misconstrued.

But I'll repeat myself at the risk of being rude,
There must be 50 ways to leave your "Mother......50 ways to leave your "Mother."

    Call Elderettes "bitch", Rich,
    Puff on a smoke, Bloke,
Bring porn to the Hall, Paul.

    Grow your hair long, Wong,
    Show a little skin, Lyn,
Get out of your cage, Page.

    Just get yourself free.

    Tinsel your tree, Lee,
    Wear a big Cross, Ross.
    Get a new tat, Matt.

    Please listen to me.

Take blood to get well, Del,
    Say Satan's Da Man, Dan,
    Call the Pope "Boss", Josh.

    Stop preaching hate, Nate,
    and go out and mate.

    You'll get yourself free.

He said "it grieves me so to see you in such pain,
"I wish there was something I could do to make you
    smile once again."

I said, "I would appreciate that
    and would you please explain?"

He said, "why don't we both just sleep on it tonight?"
"I believe that in the morning
you'll begin to see the light",

And then he hugged me and I realized
    he probably was right.

There must be 50 ways to leave your "Mother.....50 ways to leave your "Mother."

Do fun things in bed, Ted,
    Like getting some head,
    That's what he said.

Take a dump on the stage, Page,
Send the Elders to hell, Belle,
    Give them some flack, Jack.

    No need to discuss much,
    Just get yourself free.

    The GB's a mess, Jess,
    They're sucking your blood, Jud,
You can't play with your pud, Bud.

    Stop being blue, Sue,
    Please hear what I say.

    Salute that old Flag, Dag,
Get drunk at a wake, Jake,
    Sing a Pagan Hymn, Jim,

    Get some spiked hair, Jer,
    Find a gay pal, Al,
    And act really scary, Gary.

    Your "Mother" will flee.

Be proud of your nob, Bob,
    Dare to act sick, Rick,
Just take her to bed, Fred.

    And then you'll be free.

    Just write your DA, Ray,
    and get a DF, Jeff,
It's no time to play, Jay,

    Just do what I say.

    Tomorrow's a new day,
    So get yourself free.

There must be 50 ways to leave your "Mother." 50 ways to leave your "Mother".....

    Welcome, great post.

It is difficult having a wife in. How strongly devoted to the WTS is your wife? Maybe try to subtly introduce some questions over time. It will be very difficult for you to remain with her and have children if she remains a JW, so trying to open her mind is the best option.

"I would like to know of any stories from you who also are atheists. What did you say in your Judicial?"

I decided to DF myself from the organization at age 18. In my Judicial Hearing, the elders were shocked about my decision. They reminded me that I was removing myself from Jehovah's protection when Armageddon comes.

I told them that I wasn't sure I believed in Jehovah anymore.

They responded with "What about what the Bible says?"

I told them that I didn't believe that the Bible was God's authoritative text.

We then had a discussion about fulfilled prophecy, signs of the end, etc. I reasoned that prophecy appears to be "fulfilled" when it is applied after the fact, and that signs of current conditions "fulfilling prophecy" were just the JW perspective. (I had yet to read Hume, not that it would have mattered to them.)

Eventually it came down to a version of Pascal's Dilemma:

If I believe and I'm right, I live forever. If I believe and I'm wrong, I've wasted my life by "waiting on Jehovah."

If I don't believe and I'm right, I get the joy of LIVING my life on my terms. If I don't believe and I'm wrong, Jehovah kills me at Armageddon.

    Here's a paraphrasing of what I said:

"As far as I can tell, this is the only life that I will live. I'm not any surer of this fact than I am that God doesn't exist. Ultimately, time will tell. However, I don't want to risk wasting my whole life living according to someone else's rules, only to die waiting like so many people in our congregation have.

"If I'm wrong, I'll take the issue up with God when he returns. If He doesn't find my lifestyle to fit his fancy, then I'll tell Him to do what He must. But it will be on my terms. I love you all dearly, and I wish that it didn't have to be this way. But I have the rest of my life to live, and I want to get started living it."

    Hope that helps,

"I was promised my first home PC if I did get baptised before turning 16)."

And they believed that Jehovah would approve of their bribing a child into baptising? Unbelievable.

"I can't take this cult any longer. If I read or heard another thing about Jehovah killing people to satisfy his name, I swear I'll probably end up having a fit. "

If you can't take the cult any longer, get out. I waffled about leaving for several years before I finally did it. Absolutely no regrets, then or now. That's not to say the process won't be difficult, but if you stay in against your better judgment, you're just throwing your life away in service to a godless organization that is only concerned about their slaves following their rules.

"We don't have kids yet, but do plan to start a family soon. But I certainly do not want my children participating in anything cult-like...."

Speaking as one whose childhood was devastated by the WTS, don't even dream of having kids with this woman, even if you're not a JW anymore. The continuous conflict between you and your wife will make your children's lives a misery, even if you prevail and they don't become dubs. Get out now, find someone who is sane, and then think about kids. SO not kidding.

Hey mate- Once you have made the decision about the KH and religion in general as you explained to us, then it is obvious the elders have only the power over you that you give to them. What would you do if the captain of the French Foreign Legion told you to come in for a disciplinary meeting? Why, you will tell him to take a hike wouldn't you? The mental jump you must make is that the only reason you were a JW was because of fraud. The WT org obtained your membership by lying about it's past. Give the elders the boot and take back your life.

Good luck and what happens, happens- that's life.

Everything happens for a reason. I purposely posted my details. I haven't gone to any meetings since my first post and will never go back to the cult.

As for the Freemasons controlling the WTS, I am still waiting on info to verify this.

The girl that died was one of my best friends. Terrible loss.
