    6.2 Sumatra, Indonesia

    Tuesday, 30. December 2008, 22:48:11

    Indonesia, earthquake, photo, Sumatra, media

About half a dozen precursors through the afternoon adding up to around 30Richter along the Indo-Solomon Straits, thankfully mostly under the sea.
It usually takes magma a couple of days to slop across underneath plates and faults. So from a New Moon just after perigee combing the magma to 20+ South, it meets the Sun on it's way back up from 23.5S, creating stress on the E-W aligned fault. Bengkulu

still alot of dumbing down going on. Newspapers dropping down to the psychologically important '5.9', like they were reporting a cut price sale instead of the truth.

I think there is a lot of dumbing down in progress, too.

Many of the websites I visited yesterday concerning the erruptions are now "page not found" or their information seems to end in 2005 or 6. This is wierd.

Also, if you check the map, there were 2 earthquakes in Portugal (3.4 and a 4.3). This is not very far from La Palma.

I live in an unstable country.

There are shells on some of our mountains. They are in good condition.

Sometimes I can smell our nearest volcano.

I have had an ash fall on our house. There is a 6 foot layer of volcanic ash under it.

Some of our favourite spots are hot waterfalls and creeks.

I am sure that New Zealand as I know it will disappear eventually.

Dad's killer/Saviour God will not interfere.

    That is awesome.

Don't you find all of this unusual geography fascinating?

I have found sharks teeth in places where you would never expect them. It has always piqued my interest in how these events have occurred.

I wonder if other people really see this planet as a living breathing organism?

Do you find that the ground is richer and nutrition grown there is more potent for having mineral and vitamin content from the ash?

I have never been to a hot springs, much less hot waterfalls or creeks. We have very very COLD springs where I live. What temp is your "hot" creeks?

The only thing that really disconcerts me right now is that this current information concerning volcanic activity is not being updated and reported. I feel like we are purposely being "kept in the dark".

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this

    Silly shit, stupid shit...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

    Learn to swim.

Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be

    Hi Cameo,

It isn't unusual geography for me. It is just what happens around here.

The soil is fertile from the ash.

The temps. in the springs I frequent is around 38-42 deg C. You have to get your timing right for some of them. Some can be a bit too hot or cold depending on how much rain there has been in the past few days.

There are many places where I have been that show signs of major upheavals. I think it is silly to expect that similar events won't occur again. I just hope they happen when I am not going to be affected by them.

    Cheers
    Chris

Others are confirming that USGS has made NO UPDATES since the tremors began.

    Apparently the tremors are harmonic.
