Dang! Smart lady! Lots of folks would say the National Guard. But it can't be as it's a part of the US military, especially when we back door draft the poor bastards and then screw them on military benefits.

I'm just glad five Supreme Court justices think the 2nd Amendment gives individuals a right to bear arms.

Some polling data on the subject...

Men are more likely than women to say the 2nd amendment extends gun rights to individuals (80 to 65 percent). Agreement across party lines on this: 83 percent of Republicans, 76 percent of independents and 67 percent of Democrats agree individuals carry a constitutional privilege to bear arms.

Men are also more apt than women to prioritize the protection of those rights over gun control (53 percent among men to 41 percent among women). Big regional differences on this question as well: 70 percent in the Northeast said it's more important to limit gun ownership, compared with 58 percent in the West, 43 percent in the Midwest and 40 percent in the South.

More than six in 10 Republicans said the emphasis should be on individual rights, while about as many Democrats would prefer gun control. 57 percent of independents would opt for gun control, 41 percent for protecting rights.

Two-thirds of women would support a state law similar to the D.C. one under review, but support drops to 50 percent among men. About two-thirds of Democrats and independents alike support such a law; 55 percent of Republicans are opposed.

Just to be clear, are you saying that (1) you do not believe the 2nd Amendment applies to individuals and (2) the Court will make a decision allowing firearms to be taken from law-abiding individuals?

Do you believe felons should have the right to a gun? Do you believe a individual should be allowed to own his own personal nuclear device? If no, then you do not believe the second amendment protects your personal right to bear arms either. Felons retain all constitutional rights if the right to personal arms is true then no law may abridge that right. Personal bombs are firearms yet no one thinks that it is a right to have them, not even the most avid of gun rights nut. If you do, you are very stupid to say the least. It would mean felons, the criminals you seek protection with your firearms from may get any firearm they so choose to perpetrate their evil deeds against you including the infamous 50.BMG sniper rifle that can kill you from a mile away with ease. Also it would be impossible to stop nuclear terrorism do to the fact it is a right to posses the bomb.

In many states felons loose the right to own firearms and the right to vote. In some states a convicted persons rights are restored if he does well.

In theory a person who has paid his debt to sociey is done with his obligation. We can ask sex-offenders (including the 18 year old who did it with a 17 year old and got caught) to register for the rest of their lifes. Some convicts should have the rights to weapons restricted also.

If a guy really wants a nuke... let em. We still regulate the plutonium or uranium that makes it go boom. Really a non-question (red herring) on your part. If a person pays Class 3 taxes he can legally own all sorts of bombs and destructive devices. It's the folks who dont pay the taxes we need to worry about. After all setting the thing off is probably against all state and local laws already. The FAA had a few laws on the books about flight close to buildings and we see how those worked out already.

Most criminals wont obtain a "infamous .50 BMG sniper rifle". At $3500 (or more) per copy and ammo that runs over $5 a round not many 'bangers are into Barrett- style rifles. Making that 'mile shot' ... I dont worry about that and you shouldnt either. I wouldnt figure more than 600 men on the planet are able to make that shot... and just about all have a job in some countries military.

5 go... you many want to work on your non-sequiters and red herrings. Hyperbole is for kids.
