There was some school somewhere in the US..I think it might be Frisco, that had their kids growing some vegetables in a partitioned part of the school yard. The reason they did it was to encourage kids to eat healthy but also to help them understand the growing process and be part of it. A lot of kids never ever see any type of food before it hits the table, so they can't begin to understand the process for example of how that McDonalds burger ends up on their lunch plate. They haven't picked their own berries so they can't appreciate the effort that goes into growing and taking it out of the ground yourself - and all that awareness is a good thing. Not speaking for all kids of course, but a lot of the city kids haven't a clue about how food is grown. I wish the option of co-op city gardens in one way, was almost mandatory for all school age kids and that the stuff they grew was used in their own school for lunches and stuff. I know - I'm dreaming...sammieswife.

Here is an interesting perspective on the oil crisis. This is part 1 or 7 parts.

That Baptist preacher is not a mathematician - probably hired by big oil. The big oil companies want to create the illusion of plentiful oil supples.

Gas is now 1.485 at the pump. The BC government chose to add 2.4 cents carbon tax on July 1st to lessen the impact of the tax. (its hard to grumble when you are celebrating Canaders birthday)
