What's Your MAIN Reason For Not Believing In "The Truth"?

    I finally understood this scripture:

    1 John 2:4-6 (The Message)

If someone claims, "I know him well!" but doesn't keep his commandments, he's obviously a liar. His life doesn't match his words. But the one who keeps God's word is the person in whom we see God's mature love. This is the only way to be sure we're in God. Anyone who claims to be intimate with God ought to live the same kind of life Jesus lived.
1 John 2:4 (New King James Version)
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

Making rules that are not biblically supported. Example, the 3 instances in which a wife make seek separation from her husband. NOT biblical, but they do it.

Also, Can't listen to any GOOD music like rock n roll

Can't watch any GOOD movies. (I like to watch porn sometimes)

They are just killjoys who don't like to have any fun.

I would say my *main* reason is false prophecy. That's not the issue that caused me to question the Society, but to me it is the simplest, most straightforward evidence that the Society does not have God's backing.

I can almost understand some of the bad conduct on the part of elders and other high-ranking folks in the organization. The JWs are right that God's servants have always had personal issues. But nowhere in the Scriptures is there any instance of a false prophet having God's backing and blessing. Rather, the oft-cited passage from Deuteronomy 18 makes it clear how He feels about such ones.

None of the details ever mattered to me. I saw too much "anti-Truth" such as compartmentalizing dissent, discouraging education, discouraging questioning, social controls etc. The means by which the Borg advance the truth, looked an awefully lot like how one would efficiently propogate a lie, so I assumed it was a lie.

I'm pleased that upon doing my homework, my hunch is correct.
