Yeah, war is hell and it is reality of life here on planet Earth.

There probably are other blogs from Iraqi's who may say just the opposite. I dont live in Iraq, never been there either. So I cant validate nor disprove this blog, unless I was actually there myself.

I have no clue where to even find something like that, apparently you must do alot of research on that subject. I have talked with many of our returning service men and women, and for the most part they were treated well by the Iraqi people, they were told that they were glad they were there, etc etc etc.

There is always 2 sides to the story, problem is this is halfway around the world, and I cant personally experience it myself, I have to take others words for it.

I have also spoken to many returning service men and women (I live in a city with a large military population) many of them tell a very gloomy picture of Iraq and where they are headed.

Again I repeat, there is always 2 sides to the story, and neither of us are in Iraq right now, so we dont know personally.

I think that it is maybe a little more complicted than that.

From the people who brought us Iraq. I would quote from some one better than them if I were you.

Most Russians said to favour Soviet-style economy

OK, 5go hypothetical situation,,,,, you and I are about to turn in a research paper about the current conditions in Russia. As my source, I use this person. http://www.heritage.org/about/staff/ArielCohen.cfm

    and this article...

    http://www.heritage.org/Research/RussiaandEurasia/bg2084.cfm

You turn in your research paper with your source which is a newspaper article referring to a poll taken of 1600 Russian citizens.

I'll take my chances that the article that I provided goes a little more into depth and provides more relevant information, than your poll of 1600 Russians.

As far as you attempting to dismiss the source, merely because the name scares you...either explain how and why you know better than this author, who has been studying the subject as long as you've been on this earth, or provide a similar article from a "think tank" that supports your assertion that Russia's present conditions can be summarized in two sentences.

I would hand your paper back to you and tell not to quote think tanks, and find real sources. Perferbly one neutral like a press source or wikipedia if nothing else.

The Heritage Foundation is one of the most prominent
conservativethink tanks in the United States.[1] Founded in 1973, it is based in Washington, D.C., in the United States.
Cold War and foreign policy involvement
In the 1980s and early 1990s, the Heritage Foundation was a key architect and advocate of the "Reagan Doctrine", under which the United States government supported anti-Communist resistance movements in such places as Afghanistan,Angola, Cambodia and Nicaragua and generally supported global anti-communism during the Cold War. Heritage foreign policy analysts also provided policy guidance to these rebel forces and to dissidents in Eastern bloc nations and Soviet republics.

These are the same people who brought you Osama Bin Laden.

JG, just take a deep breath and think about this. This was a sovereign nation, we had no right to attack them. The premise for that attack, was a pack of lies. The third? fourth? reason they finally settled upon as to why we are there, was to free the Iraqi people. Is that really the kind of world that you want to live in? Whoever has the biggest army and fattest head, can self righteously walk in and wreak havoc on any country they choose? I just heard this gem a couple of days ago. Cholera is breaking out all over, and now into Baghdad, because the country is in ruins. Sounds like Operation Iraqi Freedom is working out just great.

Convenient answer when presented with information that challenges your viewpoint.

"Oh well, there's no way to know to the truth, so that's that."

    Open your mind, Dave.

A customer recently told me that her son, a sargeant in the Marines, is heading back to Iraq for his third tour.

She told me that he doesn't want to go, that it's hell over there.

I asked if he meant that he felt in danger.

She said, not so much that as what they have to do with the women and children.

    I asked what she meant.

They have to cuff them, line them up and shoot them, because they don't know who's who.

    Maybe she lied to me.

Maybe her son lied to her.

    I'm not there, I don't know.

    But it makes me wonder.

Well, at least you can take part in a debate with a liberal. It's hard to even have a sensible conversation with most republicans from what I have seen.

Most appear to just want to spew the typical republican drivel and make political comments that frankly just serve to demonstrate their ignorance of global issues and international politics.

But hey, as long as you can have cheap gas eh?!
