Are JW's generally better than average people?

Now Rosalee....be a good little JW and report the couple of hours you spent here on your time card. Then go directly to your elders and confess that you've had verbal intercourse with several men AND women on an apostate website. Then come back and tell us how loving and compassionate they were. Just see if they don't look at you differently from now on.

I don't think anyone has bragging rights, none of us are better than anyone else.

Romans 3:9-17 9 Well then, should we conclude that we Jews are better than others? No, not at all, for we have already shown that all people, whether Jews or Gentiles, are under the power of sin. 10 As the Scriptures say,

    No one is righteous—
    not even one.

    11 No one is truly wise;
    no one is seeking God.
    12 All have turned away;
    all have become useless.
    No one does good,
    not a single one
    .”
13 “Their talk is foul, like the stench from an open grave.
Their tongues are filled with lies.”
“Snake venom drips from their lips.” [ e ]
14 “Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness.” [ f ]
15 “They rush to commit murder.
16 Destruction and misery always follow them.
    17 They don’t know where to find peace.” [ g ]
18 “They have no fear of God at all.

If Christ would not accept the title "good" who is anyone to feel superior to another.

I have every right to decide what and when I will reveal anything.

Of course you do, darling. And no one (at least no one I've read, though I've not read all) is disputing this. Do what thou wilt. Free Will reigns supreme.

I suppose the conundrum in my mind (though I hardly care) is that JW's hold themselves out to be morally superior; following men they believe to be absolute channels of the god. But they pick and choose and "flip-flop" (hehe, I sound like a Republican) on what they deem moral as it suits them. That is all.

You are happy where you are? You find satisfaction? Your spiritual needs are being met? Then by all means, stay where you are (to quote DS, stay weak, if that's what you need), it is right where you need to be. I truly believe that religions are holding pens for souls; the more restrictive they are, well let's just say you are right where you need to be; however, to quote you:

This simple concept flies right over all too many of you.

though what you said with condescension, I say with sincerity.

again, Do what thou wilt hon. It's all any of us do.

    Love and Light,

    ~Brigid

To some people, they cannot grasp the concept that not revealing 'everything' is tantamount to lying.

When someone agrees under oath to tell "The Thruth, the WHOLE truth and nothing but the truth" and then knowingly leaves out relevant information how is that not lying?

Your comparison of the Abraham/Sarah situation to the "Preparing for Child Custody Cases" book is like comparing apples and oranges: Sarah did not lie, the booklet tells Jehovah's Witnesses (including children) to lie in court by telling them to testify falsehoods in court after taking the above oath.

To some people, they cannot grasp the concept that not revealing 'everything' is tantamount to lying. Have to pity them. -- Rosalee

This statement comes from Rosalee, who has already acknowledged her sordid history of deceitfulness::

In the past, I'd say exactly what someone said but with a few extra thoughts and claim it was exactly what I heard them say.

Rosalee, you can rationalize your dishonesty in whatever manner that suits you, but such rationalization does not in any way remediate your absolute lack of credibility. There's an old saying applicable to you, "once a liar, always a liar." I bet you lie on your time reports and rationalize that dishonesty as well.

Pity? I have pity on those who are gullible enough to believe anything you say, and I also pity those who are enslaved by the cult that you purport to serve.

Please go back (you obviously missed it in your excitement) my post # 29.

    You WILL be enlightened!

You WILL see that I was talking about when I WAS NOT a JW.

I WAS in a similar state you now find yourself in. Muddled!

Witness don't have the proper understanding of "honesty".

Honesty is a good thing, but not always possible, or practical.

    Witholding the truth IS dishonest.

Witnesses think it is OK to withhold the truth.

    Witnesses ARE dishonest.

Click the "play" arrow on the tv screen. Your answer will be in the first three minutes, just be sure to turn up the volume on your speakers.

Jesus withheld always telling all he knew, to certain ones.

What was that word you called JWs.

Oh yes, I think it was liar.
