    Not to worry J-ex-W

Someone was moving a few years ago and gave me a five foot xmas tree. I was thrilled so I put it up and whatever decorations they gave me.

People did think it was a tad early though.

Especially since it was only July

    I understand

Your post brought back that pain, you are not alone. Things will change for you from here on out but it doesn't have to mean change for the worse. I remember the pain of having their pictures up too. I even worked as a professional nanny making tons of money and had to quit because of the pain. How could I raise someone elses children when all I wanted was my own, all I thought about was mine when they were that age etc. It was too much pain to bear. I came real close to suicide but the fact that I was afraid they would blame themselves some time in the future kept me from it. Don't lose hope! I lost time with them as you are now but hearts change and now they are back in my life.

I made it through and you will too. Make your space your own. Make it a happy place.

Forgot that I also have a saddle on a kitchen chair and one on an end table lol.. since we don't have saddle racks and a large enough tack room yet! When company comes I throw one saddle into my bedroom. My bedroom is hilarious! It is a very small room with a double bed, 2 computers, 2 bookshelves stuffed, 2 dressers, shelves on top of them, large dry erase board full of stuff to remember, large calender, 32 inch TV, an armoir (jewely thing?) and a metal shelf next to my bed where my computer sits, and all kinds of stuff is on the shelves underneath. The keyboard is on my lap and sits on top of it when not in use. My horse bridle and hats hang off a shelf. There is an ancient aussie dog on the floor at the foot of the bed so hubby has to step over the old guy to get to his side. I keep the door shut!

Anyone like Rachel Ashwells shabby chic style? I never knew my particular style was shabby chic until I seen her show years ago. Of course the bedroom is more New York City studio than anything else

There's a huge bookshelf packed full of books. It's in the living room, by my comfy overstuffed couches. Very cozy.

If you came into my home and entered my room, the rest of the hous is my wifes rooms, you would 24 guitars hanging on the walls and on stands a set of drums, a piano, saxaphone, zylaphone, 4 different recoding machines, and my computer. I like music.

ooooooooooooooohhhhh 24 guitars...nice....we want a music room too... my sons would love to come visit you and camp out for a few nights jamming.

They were in a band, now defunct that played as opening band for The Misfits once. Their moment of glory. They are incredible, both play lead guitar but my 18 year old is the better of the 2 on that. My 23 year old son is one hot drummer. They are building a recording studio and live together. I want to help them make it, they need to subscribe to Billboard and go on auditions. They have too much talent to waste it working brain numbing jobs...lol (bad mama bad bad mama)

Pictures of my kids at various ages in frames, and soothing (lavender) scented candles and potpourri (spelling)

I love a clean, uncluttered simple space.

Well if you were to walk into my home where I am right now (Portugal) you would think the place got hit with the bomb. It's my father's old home, where he grew up as a child. There are very high ceilings and walls and stairways that lead to nowhere---the second floor has been knocked down. There are beautiful columns and marble floors. There is a lot of green/grassy areas all around, the remnants of a farm. But of course you will see in the middle of the whole mess my laptop and also some books on a rattan stool. My apt in NYC is very bright and colorful---one of my friends says it reminds him of a Moroccan street market with all the colors and ornaments. I guess the homes would say that I have eccentric and unusal tastes. I still haven't decided how I want to fix up my father's home. I'm going to take a long walk around the city and get a feel for how I should, without making the place look like a museum, as most Portuguese folks I've noticed tend to do!

Those stairs sound like they are aching for plants and wonderful ceramics with just enough room to go up and water what you need

Your place sounds so exotic....in Portugal yet!!!!

I am envious! I love architecture, high ceilings.....and staircases to no where!

The pictures of my lover and me over the last 21 years of love and kindness and lovely scenery of the pacific coast.

No bibles or watchtower literature or any religious images or anything of that sort but beautiful images of this earth and of saving animals and this globe.
