Recommend a GOOD film - no snakes, planes or spandex superheroes.

"Blade Runner" - sci/fi/detective thing with a twist on what it is to be human

How could I forget Blade Runner! And if you liked that you might enjoy Dark City. Once again it's all about human identity and memory in particular. The conclusion sneaks up on you after plenty of clues and you'll be thinking about it for days afterwards.

My most cherished film of all time: La Double Vie de V é ronique (The Double Life of Veronica), 1991, directed by Krzysztof Kieslowski. It is an exquisite cinematic pleasure; its haunting and soulful soundtrack will continue to evoke an otherworldly mood, should you afterwards hear only a few bars. This film is a treasure trail of meaning and symbolism. The beauty of this is: much of this must be contributed by the viewer.

Another favorite and impactful film is Wings of Desire (Der Himmel ü ber Berlin), 1987, directed by Wim Wenders. [Hint: when the spiritual life is not enough to satisfy...]

Both films were instrumental to my own release and 'becoming' .

Evil - Swedish film about a boy struggling to grow up.

The Frailty - very strange film about how serial killers are good guys after all.

Distant Drums - great old Indian film set in the Everglades.

Just got back from watching Little Miss Sunshine. Highly recommend(unless you are terribly offended by an assortment of F-bombs and some sexual conversations). VERY FUNNY. Of all the movies I have seen this year thus far, this is my #1 pick for Best Picture of the year.

Best moments in this film? The horn and Rick James.

    Still LOL'ing MAO.
