I supposed they identified the anointed in the first century by their service record or knowledge of the Bible or their skill on the platform.

Some may have concluded that they have the heavenly calling because they have acquired considerable Bible knowledge. But spirit anointing does not bring extraordinary understanding, for Paul had to instruct and counsel certain anointed ones. (1 Corinthians 3:1-3; Hebrews 5:11-14) God has an arrangement for providing spiritual food for all his people. (Matthew 24:45-47) So nobody should think that being an anointed Christian gives him wisdom superior to that of those having the earthly hope. Spirit anointing is not indicated by proficiency in answering Scriptural questions, witnessing, or giving Bible talks. Christians with the earthly hope also do well in these respects.

This is the sound of mental gears grinding, folks. And SickofLies, apparently you are not nearly as worthy as someone Elder2 would meet at the door: he would explain it to a stranger at the door, but he is not interested in helping you, his brother. What ever happened to the story of the sheppard that (foolishly, imo) leaves his flock behind in order to go seek out and rescue just one lamb?

Elder2 (re memorial partakers): "there aren't any scriptural requirements". That speaks volumes; the most important people in their religion are not based on anything found in scripture. Interesting that 5 minutes later this Einstein said in response to the same question, "Yes there are, look them up".

Thanks, sick, this truly captures the true dark side of how elder's do not welcome or even tolerate anyone asking hard hitting questions.

BTW, tell us: this lovely, caring, loving, patient, ever-caring Bro. Elder2, what is his occupation? Just so we can get a fuller picture of this beautiful person.
