I am a little confused and I think the guy on the other line is also confused. He kept saying that JayWabba's have to have two witnesses like in a court of law.
Well first of all that is not correct, if a person is suppected of molesting a child, if the child is in the home the child is removed and the matter investigated. Is this not God's house? If there is ANY evidence so as to support the allegation of incest or rape, the person is charged with whatever is deemed appropriate. Maybe years ago, childern were not listened to or believed, but that has changed within the justice community. It is like the woman who was raped that was put on trial, we know better now and she is not made to look like she brought it on herself (unless you are the defense and that is the approach you take but often times that works against a defendant).
The other thing is when have JW's gone along with a man-made law. They fight against other man-made laws because they say it goes contrary to God's. It is my understand of the early days that if a woman was raped the men in her family were allowed to render justice on her behalf. Why would not that be the same within the cong. Especially since the bros and/or elders are deemed as the head of a household if a woman is not married or her spouse is not a witness. I am not saying that a person should take the law into their own hands, but a cong has the ability to "shun" someone who has molested a child. How is that not keeping the cong clean. Studies are out there that prove once a pedophile always a ped. I wonder if an elder's kid was messed with if they would feel the same or would it be covered up in the name of the Lord. Considering it is acceptable to take away priv. of people w/in the Hall, why would not take away the person's priv. and monitor their every move w/i the Hall to make sure the "flock" is safe.
Bad, bad shepards!
