Here's a thought:
The WTS claims that "no person who is known to have been a child molester will be permitted to serve in a position of responsibility in the congregation".
To my way of thinking, a position of responsibility implies a position of trust. To my way of thinking, when I hear Jehovah's Witnesses address each other as Brother or Sister So-and-so, it implies that this person has gained the trust of the congregation. It implies that they have accepted a position of responsibility and have been given a position of responsibility and have agreed to abide by Righteous Principles™.
So WHY does the WTS allow known child molesters, even if they have been DFd and are later Reinstated™ for professing repentance, to be known as Brother or Sister, when that title implies there is trust and the responsibility that this "trust" affords to someone who poses a risk to children in the congregation? Why not just refer to them as Mr. or Ms. or Mrs. whatever, instead of including them in the group and identifying them as someone worthy of some level of trust in the congregation?
Something as simple as that would be a step in the right direction.
