Due to some emergencies here in Canuckistan ( 2,200 - 3,000 flood evacuees), I have had to cancel my plane tickets to the Dallas fest. Fortunately work will cover the cancellation costs.

It sucks as there are going to be so many going that I have always wanted to meet (literally for years)and some newer folks that I would love to meet as well.

<sigh> next time I s'pose. Enjoy the weekend and I will live vicariously through your stories.

Since a group is planning on going out for a fun night on the town, the rest of us quiet types need to think of something for us to do!

I admit it... I was born an old fart who doesn't like loud party environments. I know there are others out there just like me, so we need to decide what to do for fun on Friday evening.

There are several possibilities...

There is a very nice winery in Downtown Dallas. Five or ten of us could go down there for a quiet evening of chatting and sipping wines made right here in Dallas. (www.swirll.com)
For the out-door types, we can go Geo Caching.
As a fall-back plan, we might be able to talk Chris and Nina into allowing us to just relax and enjoy some nice wine and conversation at their home.
