How Did Watching Mel Gibson's "The Passion of the Christ" Make You Feel?

I saw this film at the cinema and whilst it was moving to an extent, after the initial emotion I do question why it was that I went to see 2.5 hours of torture and paid £5 for the privilege.

The film did nothing for my spirituality in fact it made me feel less spiritual in that I had to question why a God could make one man (his alleged own son for that matter) suffer so much when it would be just as easy and within his so called power for God to resolve matters without such needless suffering.

I respect the spirituality of Christians but I do struggle with the issue of the ransom; I struggle also with the fact that God has in fact not only made his Son suffer as he did but also countless millions of humans thereafter without a single hope being clear in sight; nor has this so called God sought to explain his inactivity.

    Sorry had to vent...

I thought it was amazing... but disturbing.
