Questions About the Watchtower's View on Blood Transfusions.
by Pallbearer ini admit to not being very well informed about the watchtower's view on blood transfusions.
i have a couple of questions that i hope someone here is able to answer.. i understand that the watchtower now considers it to be okay to receive blood fractions.. my first question is: are all fractions considered to be permissible?
and if not, specifically which fractions are not permissible?.

Last Thursday's Meeting in Elmira, On
by newsheep ini had gotten a phone call from a brother who was really upset.
he said there was a resolution passed that everyone is in agreement to the selling of the elmira hall.
the strange thing is at the congregation picnic an elder told him that a few years ago the deed to the hall was signed over to the org.

video games sports etc
by Akid48 inmaybe two or three weeks ago we had a meeting at the hall about sports which was pretty bad.why do they act like they support sports or videos while they say at the same time they say you can't do 90% of anything of those things, maybe the video says you can play sports here and there but then you have the social problem of brothers and sisters looking down on you for liking sports more or liking to watch sports more than take hours out of your day sitting down going over the watchtower or reading a bible.
is it just me more i think as a teen you should at least being doing something even if its not sports maybe music or anything a teen likes, because every time i try and talk to a teen in the kingdom hall they seem off or flat out weird, its like there a different type of teen or something they cant relate to anything that you would usually talk about i don't know there just off and i feel like locking them up and locking there brains is just horrible..

Excellent piece on Watchtower's appeal to the Supreme court
by Diogenesister inmark o'donnell ( john redwood) has outdone himself in this excellent piece on watchtower's appeal to the supreme court regarding their definition of clergy-penitent rights.. the case they are appealing revolves around gilbert simental, a known abuser who, although eventually removed as an elder, was allowed to remain in a position of respect, with the parents of his victims kept in the dark about the risk he posed to the children with whose care he was entrusted.
.
anyway it's an excellent piece and well worth reading.. https://jwsurvey.org/news/jehovahs-witnesses-lose-california-child-abuse-case-appeal-to-u-s-supreme-court-part-one.

Did you ever thought this?
by Theonlyoneleft inso.. you are a jw or studying, living your life and doing your bit, feverish of spreading the good news to everyone that will listen!.
you prep yourself for meetings, doing your ministry and applying all that there is into your daily life.. so....i have a question... you know... my clogs.
when you where completely in the religion, did you ever think about the impact of your way of life and religion towards others, specially those that lived around you such as good friends or family members that didn’t studied?

A technical clarification re "New Scientist"
by Doug Mason inthe following is not a criticism of the wts.
i am providing this for technical clarification and my expectation for accuracy.. endnotes 43 and 45 on page 27 of the wts’s brochure, “the origin of life” refer to the new scientist periodical of 30 may 2009.. the text in the wts’s brochure does not match the text of the new scientist’s online article.
further investigation shows that the online text does not accurately replicate the text that appeared in print in the physical magazine.
