Monthly Broadcast for December 2017 is 'replaced by....' - plus more....
by darkspilver inlooks like the wt are even reducing the video content nowadays...... no jw tv monthly broadcast for december 2017 - instead it is replaced with the 'gilead graduation part 1' programme.
issues with translation - apparently replacing the monthly broadcast with the hour long 'spiritual' part of the graduation means that the wt are able to translate it into more languages than before.. plus more.....

Does "Hanlon's Razor" apply to the Governing Body?
by stuckinarut2 ini recently learned of the term "hanlon's razor".. wikipedia defines it as: .
hanlon's razor is an aphorism expressed in various ways including "never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.
" it recommends a way of eliminating unlikely explanations for a phenomenon (a philosophical razor).. so could it be said that this applies to the gb / society ?.

rebuilding JW homes & insurance question
by MrRoboto injust wondering if anyone can confirm with their own experience, but especially with any kind of documents, as to whether the org really does take insurance money from disaster victims after the rbc / ldc repairs their homes?
and what of non-jws that might get assistance from them?.
this last wt study article for me thinking, what with all that unhypocritical love the org has going on..

Why "Most high"?
by Doug Mason inif there were only one god, why do we encounter the expression, "most high god"?.
is this not indicative of polytheism, and of levels (or degrees) of god-ness?.

"poly-Yahwist" religion of early Israel and Judah
by Doug Mason inthe following is from “beyond the texts: an archaeological portrait of ancient israel and judah”, pages 497-499, by william dever,.
religion played an important role in all early societies, and cultic practices (if not beliefs) are often reflected in material culture remains.
in israel and judah of the ninth–eighth century [bce] we have a number of both public and private cultic installations.
