A current jw would not believe the letter or would just say it was human error and mistakes are made blah, blah, blah........But the non jw public should see the letter!
Thanks for the video Finkelstein! I had not seen this and will watch it later.
as many of us saw in the pbs news hour program and the abc news nightline program the elders from one congregation failed to communicate properly to the elders in another congregation concerning the child molester jonathan kendrick when he moved to a new congregation.
i have parts of this " introduction letter " from the fremont congregation to the oakley congregation elders so you can read it for yourself and decide how irresponsible these wt appointed elders were.
dated 1/16/98 it opens : .

for only the second time in internet history, a video recording of a secret jehovah's witness apostasy trial has been published online on the jwstruggle youtube channel.

Interesting, looking forward to part 2.
jwstruggle.com is down by the way, fatal error out of memory or something like that.

to funny nice job....
I have a really silly question- what is with the flowers on the stage? I know in Christian churches it is common place for large arrangements on holidays, why don't jw's consider this being part of the 'world' to do the same? or do they always have flowers?
In some churches the flowers are donated by members in honor of deceased loved ones on a regular basis or the church has a small budget for flowers.
just found out (second hand of course) and by someone on here that my faithful jw mum passed away within the last couple of days, dont know the exact day, and what cause, she spent the last few years living with my fanatical sister, she was 65 and survived my father by 10 years, bitter, angry and hateful till the end and never as so much enquired or asked how her 2 grandchildren ever were , they are 5 and 7!
feeling a mixture of emotions right now, they were lousy parents in all honesty, she suffered health wise so maybe its for the best, dont even know when the funeral is!
it was a year ago we visited the kh at last.
yesterday evening when went to the memorial for family reasons.. the memorial talk was very slick.. there was no mention about the early christian times, no mention about the apostles and disciples.. it was a present day talk only.. the ties to the foundation of christianity were totally absent.

http://www.cracked.com/blog/4-religions-youve-got-all-wrong-because-hollywood/.
the article describes four different religions (rastafari, jws, amish, and scientology); jws are #3.. the jw entry is pretty accurate (and as usual, funny), but surprisingly doesn't mention the two-witness-rule-related legal troubles the wt has been having lately.

I understand Magnum's and others feelings about the mistake with the 144,000 but as a non jw and talking to many non jw's about the cult you must understand that non jw's cannot wrap their head around jw theology at all. When I tell a non jw about the 144,000 and the paradise earth scenario they will say, "you mean they don't want to go to heaven?!? no, you must mean that 144,000 get to go and the others get stuck on earth?" or something to that effect. They cannot understand that a jw may truly have no desire to go to heaven.
Boggles my mind too.
Then they start doing the math of only 144,000 and they start asking how that works out? ha, yeah well it doesn't does it? at least in the non jw mind.
The non jw's I refer to either are Christian or have a knowledge of Christianity growing up going to a traditional church of some sort. The jw and Christian view of heaven is miles apart as is their view of God, Christ, etc....
the current sitting u.s. federal magistrate judge, in alpine, texas, is a jehovah's witness and is set to retire on november 9, 2015.. .
link to news article.
on november 9, the honorable b. dwight goains will retire from an eight-year term serving as the u.s. magistrate judge in alpine, texas.
hello everybody, i was wondering if anyone has been guilted or emotionally blackmailed into attending the memorial this year.
something along the lines of "if you loved your family you would at least attend the memorial".
i myself haven't attended in 5 years.
if you are a non-believing relative or spouse who is hostile to their doctrine are you an apostate?
if you studied with them and rang the logical fallacy buzzer for chits and giggles to see how they would react does this make you an apostate?.
if you are a born in who never got baptised does this make you an apostate?.
I always thought you had to be a baptized member who left to be considered an apostate. You mean this varies from cong to cong?!
how many witnesses would take up that offer if a person at the door asked them?
if that doesn't scream out "cult"!
if you know too much about the witnesses then you are an apostate.
Numerous people have made that very deal with my jw including myself. When he first joined up and for a few years after he sometimes said he would but only if the person went to the kh first. Fortunately all of them had been forewarned about jw's lying doctrine and would only agree to go if he went to church first. You can guess how that worked out, no church and no kh for either parties.
Then he gets arrogant and huffy and says Christians are not allowed to go to a kh but we all tell him we have no desire to go and no church would df someone for going. He does not understand that a person of real faith would not be affected by walking into a kh, mosque, temple or any other religious building or meeting. We just don't want to get his personal cult persona hopes up by our going even once to a kh. Nor do we want or need to experience love bombing first hand.
