    Encourage all to go and comment. now is an excellent time to tell people who the wts is and what they are all about.

    JWS are not a harmless org. They take lives in many ways.

    This is tragic .

    i recall a song that one line says

    "... say a prayer for the broken hearted..."

    a prayer for this poor man and whatever drove him to this.

    It wasn`t a suicide.....The WBT$ made an example of him.....Jehovah`s Witness`s now have a Micro Chip and a 1/4 oz of Plastic Explosives.Implanted into the back of their neck,just below the head,after baptism.......

    Outlaw, you're a sick man, but I love your theory.

    here's the one i was talking about

    TONIGHT IS WHAT IT MEANS TO BE YOUNG

    JIM STEINMAN --WRITER, PERFORMED BY FIRE INC, 1984

    chorus

    let the revels begin
    let the fire be started
    we're dancing for the restless and the broken-hearted
    let the revels begin
    let the fire be started
    we're dancing for the desperate and the broken-hearted

    let the revels begin
    let the fire be started ...(tonight is what it means to be young...)
    we're dancing for the restless and the broken-hearted...(before you know it it's gone...)
    let the revels begin
    let the fire be started...(tonight is what it means to be young...)
    we're dancing for the desperate and the broken-hearted...(before you know it it's gone...)

    say a prayer in the darkness for the magic to come
    no matter what it seams
    tonight is what it means to be young
    before you know it it's gone ...(tonight is what it means to be young...)
    tonight is what it means to be young...(before you know it it's gone...)
    before you know it it's gone

    i can't edit the last post so I'm putting it here. the song i was first thinking about is this one

    THE FUTURE AIN'T WHAT IT USED TO BE

    The best version is the original one, by Pandora's box. great simply great

    http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=q7Y8AKEDV0I&feature=related

    lyrics

    I never knew so many bad times
    Could follow me so mercilessly
    It's almost surreal
    All the pain that I feel
    The future ain't what it used to be

    It doesn't matter what they're thinking
    It doesn't matter what they're thinking of me
    It's always so cold
    I'm to young to be old
    The future ain't what it used to be

    Were there ever any stars in the sky
    Did the sun ever shine so bright?
    Do you have any dreams I could borrow
    Just to get me through the lonely night?

    Is there anything left to hold on to
    When the rivers wash it all away?
    Is there anyone left to hold on to
    Is there anything left I can say?

    Say a prayer for the falling angels
    Stem the tide of the rising waters
    Toll a bell for the broken hearted
    Burn a torch for your sons and daughters
    The endless night has got a hold of me
    Dark days are pulling me forward
    And all the tears are washing over me
    I'm crying, lost foreverIn a future that ain't what it used to be
    No more no more no more
    It's like a storm that's never ending
    It's like a shadow on the land and the sea
    There's nothing as sad as
    A tomorrow gone bad
    The future ain't what it used to be

    Some days I feel so numb and empty
    And those would be the good days for me
    Nothing gets to me now
    Unless I'm thinking of how
    The future ain't what it used to be

    Is there anything left to hold on to
    When the rivers wash it all away?
    Is there anyone left to hold on to
    Is there anything left I can say?

    Say a prayer for the falling angels
    Stem the tide of the rising waters
    Toll a bell for the broken hearted
    Burn a torch for your sons and daughters
    The endless night has got a hold of me
    Dark days are pulling me forward
    And all the tears are washing over me
    I'm crying, lost forever
    In a future that ain't what it used to be
    No more no more no more

    The future just ain't what it used to be
    It's never gonna be like it was
    The future just ain't what it used to be
    I wish it wouldn't come but it does
    I wish it wouldn't come but it always does

    I have a friend who quit the JW's 30 years ago. She works for the gov't. If she gives me any facts, I'll pass them on. This is really tragic.

    In all seriousness, can anyone help me with this? I'm trying to ascertain how many JW's have committed suicide, whether by state, by country, by year, whatever. In writing my book I want to focus heavily on this aspect. It is one of the most tragic consequences of being in this cult, or rather should I say, being thrown out of this cult, seeing that most suicides occur AFTER the poor victim has been given the boot.

    Thank you in advance to anyone who can post something.

    As a special favor, seeing we all miss some postings, could you email it to the address for my profile at the top left? Or you can use [email protected].

    Many thanks. And my sympathy for this person's family. I think the public is going to start asking these lunatics if they think serving God and following Jesus should result in destruction and death. Whatever happened to the "happy God" and "my load is light and refreshing"??

    mcsemike, I don't know if there are any actual statistics, but from what I have read over the years, suicide within the JW's is at a much higher rate than the national average.

    Also, I just got off the phone with my mom, and grandma was there visiting.

    I told mom about the kingdom hall suicide tragedy and she blurted it out to grandma, grandma was starting to allude to it being apostates or worldly people, but then her tone kinda changed when I told her it was an actual witness and maybe an Elder to boot.

    I also mentioned about the Knoxville church shooting, and she had already watched it on the news. I kid you not, she said "it sounded like it was some kind of homosexual thing" I don't know where she got that idea.

    Mcsemike, Here's an old thread of mine that asked the same question.

    Maybe this will help.

    Don't forget the shooting that happened in Columbia MO about a year and half ago. These 2 kingdom halls are about 2 hours apart, I think.

    Looks to me like the Missouri jw's are really not making people too happy with them.

    Last i heard, they had an idea who was repsonsible for the shooting here, but never proved it.

    well if the victim was suicidal, I'm very sorry. It's so sad that folks are driven that far, when the reality is all they have to do is turn their backs on the KH and walk away. The WTBTS does what it can to make that very costly, but in the end, you can be free if you just walk away and go live a different life. Doesn't sound as though he wanted to hurt others - the KH was empty except for the victim.
