What-A-Coincidence, all I can think is "What a coincidence."

One of the main thrusts of my elder resignation letter this past August was that
I did not "know the Governing Body" and could not continue to support all of their
doctrines without "knowing" them. Now, I was not just talking pictures and
names, but I asked the PO and Secretary if they even knew the names of these
guys, and how many there currently are on the GB. They got the numbers right
but could only name two older guys.

Well, they are going to say that Jehovah knows what I needed. He wants me to
know these GB members better. I better read this letter, so I am prepared to
tell them how much or how little it says.

Wow, they are finally being honest in one of their publications. Check out the second paragraph:

We boldly declare a nauseatingly similar message, one that warns the wicked and comforts the righteous (so if you are not on our side, you must be wicked). Soon (and by soon we mean anyday, maybe tomorrow, or 2014 or 2025 of 2074 or 2189 or some other convenient date) jehovah god will eradicate both the wicked and wickedness. As you will see in the fantasy/science fiction version of the actual Worldwide Report, this message is being proclaimed in a highly unproductive manner like never before to just a fraction of the earth's population --- evidence that we are not god's true servants and that jehovah's day is near (and by near we mean....oh, just see soon above) indeed. May our yeartext for 2007 remind us that like you, we have absolutely no idea of where we are in the stream of time, and may it encourage us to remain ever faithful to this blasphemous organization that simply claims to represent our magnificent god, jehovah.

    Dear WAC,

I cannot believe it! What a coincidence. When I first clicked on to this ghastly bit of idolatry, I was reading the horrific account of the 1980 Bethel witchhunt and the vicious slander that the GB used against the accused: spiritual fornicators, mentally diseased, insane, apostates, suckers, liars, worms, corrupt, leeches, a cancer. These epithets were heard and "reported by several former Bethelites who were present in the dining room when the slander occurred." THE FOUR PRESIDENTS OF THE WATCH TOWER SOCIETY (JEHOVAH'S WITNESSES) - Edmund C. Gruss, p. 83

But, I am confused. Please help me to understand. The scanned page that you have shown me, WAC, says that the GB wants to confirm their love for the dear brothers and sisters. I am inactive and no longer attend meetings at the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, the center of true worship in our godless community. Do they hate me?

Well at least now we have a picture of them. Doesn't tell us much though.

Do you wonder how long it has been since any of them held down a real job?

There is only 10 GB members now? Didn't the GB have as many as 17 at one time? Why so few?

Well at least the rank and file jws will now know who the members of the gb actually are. In my days as a jw, many were woefully ignorant of the identity of their own spiritual leaders.

It's the first time in 13 years that they publish pictures of themselves together. The only other time was in the 1993 Proclaimers book.

    jayhawk,

There is only 10 GB members now? Didn't the GB have as many as 17 at one time? Why so few?

That was decades ago. Many have died, others have been appointed. Jaracz probably won't live much longer.
