  Name the GOOD things and NICE things about Jehovah's Witnesses

  ok, so in the interests of balance....(as it has rightly been pointed out that i am getting more bitter toward the org), can we think of any positive or nice things about jehovah's witnesses?.

  One thing to point out, leaving behind the true reasons why this happens, is that they can show what can be achieved when a group of individuals come together for a common cause. The world should definitely learn from this. Regardless of the motives of those who drive them to do their works, it shows that we as human beings are very much capable of coming together peacefully and without jealousy or competition. To see a KH or assembly hall come together shows that when people are moved by something that is grater than themselves and, given the perception, that is meant for the common good, then we can achieve great works.

  I know, we all know the truth, but there is no argument that this side of humanity is rarely portrayed in a harmonius light. The best we've seen of humanity coming together in mainstream media always have some kind of violent twist to it. i.e. rebelions that tople oppresive governments. It is ironic that such rebelion might be due in this case as well.

  Service meeting week of November 3rd! How to indoctrinate children

  oh yep...here we go..... this weeks service meeting has a part designed to show how children should be indoctrinated and manipulated into going "out in service".

  the part first asks for the disturbingly corny cartoon clip to be played on the big screen at the halls: "lets go out in service!".

  (if you haven't watched it yet, please go to jw.org and watch it....you simply won't beleive it until you see it!).

  LOL.. I am actually glad that is not in the video. I am afraid I won't be able to stop my family from getting exposed to this come Wednesday.

  order of operations is important, so, i'll ask a question before i make assumptions and start "fixing things.".

  obviously, the site heavily encourages the viewpoint of former j-dubs and others who have disagreements with the political posturing of the wbts.

  Most of us were also thaught that the world outside the KH was evil. Many things are said about it and people feel compelled to continue to publish such ideas. My mother in law is one of many. I know she is not like this, she sincerely feels she is doing the right thing. My kids have been insisting on dressing up for halloween. She tried to talk them out of it. For other reasons, it did not happen but over the weekend, some news articles appear about some accidents related to halloween night. Some kids were killed by a drunk driver. She wasted no time on pointing out to my kids 'this is what happens to those who go out trick or threating". This does not come from her. This come from a constant banging on this dumb ideas and comparison that drive people to such extremes. I've been present in public talks where the speaker have said things like "its a deadly sin to miss a single meeting", while we are reminded that the talk was driven by the holy spirit. I would leave you with a quote to think about, it perfectly fits what happens inside the org

  Ok guys.. lets not make him right on his assesment because the truth is that we are not what he suspects. Rather we invite you to engage the debate, which in our experience is not something a regular JW will be willing to do. We were once on that side. Such is the opossite extreme of what you think you see here. Just as much as it seems we prefer to rant here rather than attempt to make a change from within, the regular JW would rather seat quietly on their cocoon of faith, have their believes handed over rather than do some pottentially painful thinking. All of which is augmentated by the possibility of loosing everything they know if they dare to question. Have you not read the WT definition of "apostate"? I would invite you to. It affirms that an apostate if defined in several ways. Most would agree that an aposate is someone who has refused God and his commandements. Which is true. However, the WTBTS society has redefined apostasy. Asides from the above, they added that anyone who refrains from following the word of God "as thaught by the Jehovah's witnesses" (not God) Please seat on the meaning of that for a while. Also, anyone who even begins to think, without verbally communicating it to anyone else, against what he's been thaught. While this all certainly fits the dictionary definition of apostasy, one who truly longs for biblical truth should now that you can only be an apostate against God. By extension, if you can prove that this is Jehovah's organization, then you certainly can apostasize against it and sin in the process. Unfortunately the latter can not be said by their own admission.

  This is not a choice people made, it was made for them. We all were there once. I invite you to stick around and, like someone mentioned, shows us. Because we are eager to be wrong. Many here who have lost their families, wish they were wrong about going apostate.

  so i am being hounded by the elders who are staring to get suspicious about our "slackening off in the truth".

  rather than being railroaded or pushed into a defensive or argumentative situation, i am keeping the following comment up my sleeve:.

  haha! The only problem I see with your theory is that eventually, if the conversation does not end there, they will tell you that unless you are attending meetings, goind to fields service and conducting a mountain of bible studies, then more likely the blessings you are receiving are from satan. See, that is the only way that the father will give you things by addition, if you seek the kingdom first. Satan is trying to deceive you and they are there to rescue you. NOT!

  If you want a specific elder and he is not available, tell them you can wait until he free.

  LOL.. This is a great topic. Comes to show that, while I do personally believe in God and the bible, humans are capable of making predictions based on current evidence. This is exactly what Jesus said. There is nowhere in the bible where you will be asked to believe anything blindly. Reasoning is the path to faith, and just like in thermodynamics, this is an irreversible process. One of the many failed attempts by WTS to criticize false prophets has been Deut 18:22. This seems like an easy way to reason over physical proof of ones annoinment. We all know this. However, what we never read on any studies, are the words of Deuth 13:1-3

  I invite you to review them. It basically show that, if the prophet speaks and does not come true, then God did not send this prophet. But if he comes to you with signals and prophecies that do come true, and he then procees to tell you to follow an unknown God, then watch out. Reasoning is the only way to distinguish them
