Do something to get kids involved. Music, arts, special programs. Make the metings shorter and no more than 2 per week...Most important..throw away all the canned WT rubbish. Let people really say what's in their hearts.

One of the 144,000
by out of the box ini wanted to share this story.. we were (many years ago) going out in service.
i was in the car with annointed one driving, his wife and the person who had 'brought me into the faith' and my daughter.
we went through an intersection where this old man (annointed one) was not paying attention.

I knew a kid who went to bethel and got totally caught up in the aura/BS of being in god's house etc. Next thing you know he's annointed and partaking of the emblems...Well time passes and he gets a girlfriend and guess what...he's back in the gt crowd again...Eventually he left bethel got married, did something bad, went to prison...

me and the deemunz
by katiekitten ini was lucky to have been brought up in the troof, because if i hadnt, i wouldnt have known about the demons and how they are always looking for opportunities to lead us astray by appearing as ghosties, or by making household objects float, or by getting into our house through items bought from car boot sales.. my first memories of the deemunz was quite early, say aged 5 or 6. i used to think they were at the end of the bed, and so i had to sleep with my legs curled up as tightly as possible, so they wouldnt get my toes.
i cant even begin to think what terrible things they were going to do with my piggies, but sure as the apostles i wasnt going to give them a chance.. aged 7 or 8 i knew the deemunz were after me, because i was special.
i was a jehobas witness.

35 Yrs ago today - We rocked!
by Amazing1914 indoes this sound like the jw organization you know today?
yes, on july 17th, 1970, my wife and i were baptized as jws at the "men of good will" district assembly (convention today), at the oakland, california coliseum - where the raiders play.
nearly 70,000 attended, and over 750 were baptized ... and it all made the news in the san francisco chronicle & examiner and other newspapers and radio stations.

Yeah I remember those pre '75 days, there was excitement in the air, the world did seem to be on it's last legs and we were ready to do anything that the borg asked because soon we'd be marching into paradise....
...then the wheels started falling of the WT paradise waggon...
I don't think we'll see that spirit of excitement and anticipation ever again in the org. The events of the 60's and 70's seemed to fit the borgs predictions... but then they just passed, the world changed, the org. changed, and we were left saying WTF happened...

I think it's a great idea and totally justified, but I don't think the WT will go for it. They are an organization that exerts tight control and total obedience, any change in policy must come from the top down. What is easiest and most expedient for them?...to get rid of any and all who will not toe the line. Get rid of the irritation either by difellowshipping or disassociation.
The Watchtower isn't a democracy etc it's a totalitarian dictatorship that has no time for us. they are always on the lookout for an organizational purge so they can say...see how jehovah keeps his org clean. No love, no compassion. no humanitarian feelings...just the big black org with the cold heart.

What is "the Report"?
by Kenneson ini just ran across http://www.livingwatersforum.com with its heading proclaiming: "the yorww congregation speaks as a 'voice in the wilderness' to all the congregations of jehovah's witnesses--isaiah 40:3.
" they consider themselves jehovah's witnesses and are concerned with the watchtower society's apostasy and are therefore calling all jehovah's witnesses to repentance.
their spokesperson is donald c. burney, who is also the author of "the report" book.

If they believe the witnesses have the truth then count me out...and doesn't there seem to be a conflict in saying the witnesses have the truth but have been led astray?
Witnesses don't have the truth because they have been led by blind guides from day one...look at their record of failed predictions and ever changing beliefs, that tells you how much truth is within the org.

"JOE SMO" is no longer a Jehovah's Witness (new arrangement)
by DaCheech inmy friend says that chied elder told him that when a person is disfellowshipped,.
the new announcement will say "brother joe smo" is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses!.
my friend asked why is this change?

Sure it's for legal reasons...over and over we see examples of the org turning into big time corporate religion/business.and like any business they want to protect their assets and fend off any potential legal troubles. I remember the good old days...sister so and so has been disfellowshipped for fornication...
The end result is the same for the person and their family
Have you noticed how little the org does for the flock out of genuine love and compassion?
Behind the pretty pictures, they (GB) have hearts of solid formica...

changes in WT cd rom
by Lot incan any one please give me examples, if such exist, of substantial changes in the cd rom vs the hard copies of mags.
this would prove to be invaluable to me in helping my wife see the deception involved with the wts.
i say substantial because something that was obviously a mistake of minor importance could happen in any electronic transfer of data.. thanks so much,.

I thought honesty was a big thing with the witnesses...another example of the borg saying "do as we say, but not as we do.

Another marriage bites the dust because of JW beliefs
by unbeliever ini know very few people who have been successfully married where 1 spouse is a witness and the other is not.
i know there are a few examples on this board.. a couple that i know irl have split after nearly 25 years of marriage because of the stupid shunning shit.
one of their 3 children got df'd 6 months ago and that is when everything fell apart apparently.

It makes me sick to think that her loyalty (and everything in life) is first and formost with the WT. I'm in a similar situation and it burns me up inside to know that I come in a distant second to the borg...and oh yes, my wife has never had to find work outside the home either.
