Should dubs be hanging out in casinos?
by unbeliever inmom and i went to have a bite to eat at one of her favorite restaurants which is in a casino.
lo and behold as we were leaving in walks 5 of her dub friends who were going to eat at the same place.
she was talking and talking and i got tired of standing there being ignored so i walked away and started playing the slots which was well in their eye site.

I'm afraid there will always be another sucker to join up...but I think we'll see the end of the org as we know it. As I see it, they will either become more mainstream to get and keep more followers, or a more fanatical controlling cult that teaches "we are the chosen few"...I'd put my money on the hardliners any day.

I don't see how the great mother organization could possibly think this is ok...isn't oth org concearned about not giving the appearance of "sin" and bringing reproach on the org...even if it means stripping away personal choice in many matters. The WT is so judgemental...maybe you should turn them in .Haha

Smurf away

then some jw kid had a nightmare, it was taken as demonism and my smurfs were taken away!

I really enjoy my association with people who are not JW's. I was brought up to be suspicious of anyone outside the org...they were bad associates and terribly depresed and unhappy. What a crock.

My day at the assembly, er, convention
by Pistoff inwell, i could not avoid going today; a close friend got dunked and i had to go.. i was not even in my seat when i was already writing down egregious mind control bs: the first of the day and here it is:.
(verbatim) "obedience in the congregation to the elders is the same as obedience to jehovah personally".
my day got started with that puker.. ok, sit down and take more notes; not enough caffeine to take it straight.

It's getting worse. The GB is getting more hard line and the R&F better buckle down or else. Look at any type of cult or dictatorship, what do they do when they feel threatened...they tighten their grip,they increase their control over the people to insure loyalty. Any who are found lacking are purged and a climate of fear and suspiscion comes in.
All are being scrutinized. obedience to the GB is obedience to god so you'd better toe the line. I think their numbers will shrink but then they'll just put this down to god's sifting and refining. They can never lose...in their own minds and in the minds of those who blindly follow them.

by PaNiCAtTaCk inwe are to have a family reunion soon and i was asking my cousins if they were going.
they said probably not because they heard it would be in a building that was part of the babtist church.
im at work so i cant research it but i need quotes to email him saying that it would be up to his conscience.

Isn't it dumb, The R&F are uneasy about a reunion in part of a church but the GB felt it was OK to go inside the UN building, get a library card and agree to become a NGO. Do you see the fear factor at work...?

When is the GB going to get in on the act, after all, aren't we living in the most critical times in human history? BTW do they do they still do the okay cokay at all witness weddings in England? I know they did when I was a kid

I am new here, former JW left years ago.
by out of the box ini want to discuss my experiences with the witnesses.
how it began: i was recruited during the time i was escaping from a violent husband to a shelter.
a witness came to my door as i was preparing to move during the day without him knowing (while he was at work).

You WILL obey us and you WILL be happy, because we say so. are these nutters putting themselves in place of god or what? The control and guilt they inflict upon their followers is sickening. Are they saying that any problem a witness has is because of not fully applying bible/WT instructions. Am I reading this right? If so the R&F need to be even more dependent on th Borg.
