  Nobody is talking about the Generation change!!

  every time i have raised the noolite on this, it is met with blank looks and no comment.. on the phone it has been met with silence while they wait to see why i am talking about it.. has anybody else noticed this - it is a trend that less and less witlesses discuss doctrines and teachings when socializing.. could it be that they don't want to acknowledge a creeping disernment that they have been strung along, and so the gibbering buddy can no more be trusted on this claim than all the other failures, or is it that they are afraid of being called apostos?.

  one elderly sister (90) who really thought she would never die, and is now, when i said i was atonished at the recent changes in 1935 annointed, generation and now no book group, just waited at the other end of the phone..

  Ham, I think that they don't understand the recent article about the generation now being applied to the anointed. They are having their minds boggled and are just going with the flow. To question the change means that you don't follow the Governing Body's lead. They are afraid to be called an apostate or get shunned and looked down upon if they question this new light.

  Some may silently be chewing on this and will take some kind of action later. You are right about there not being a bigger response to this generation change.

  many who post here are always talking about they don't need god and that they don't believe in god and that he dosen't exist.

  god does not ask us to do unreasonable things.

  most of the things he ask us to do protects our lives.. why don't people get that?

  Real One. Can you love someone, and then command them to love you on pain of death? When you command someone to do something that you want, you take away their freedom of choice and freewill.

  Real One, I command you to stop posting here. Do you feel and see your reaction to that command.

  The ten commandments, the greatest commandment, must be obeyed or suffer pain of punishment and or death. If I obey out of fear, where is the freewill and love. And if I use my freewill to do otherwise, I must pay the price of rejection from the one who commands me.

  Where is the love? That's why I question these words written in a book that is suspect as to them actually being the words of a god.

  A god does not to need to command you or make you do anything that you don't want to do. That is why he gave you freewill to chose.

  Man on the other hand likes to command people to do such and such. Those words were written by men, not a god. Hence no need to obey them.

  the question has been raised, "why was the announcement about the congregation bible study announced 8 months before implementation?".

  i believe it is simply a matter of how the wts plans things.

  the theocratic ministry school schedule comes out in the october km.

  Why couldn't they just make a supplement to the meeting with the changes now and then include it in the new arrangement in 2009. They made supplement before, it would not be that difficult to do this and ease the "GAS BURDEN " now, not eight months later.

  First, let me say thanks for all of your responses.

  These questions and similar ones like them reflect an intimate connection between religion and values in the minds of many people, as was demonstrated by the many different and opposing views in the responses to the topic.

  As a result the question of God's existence becomes more than a simple philosophical problem.

  How can we know the unknowable?

  As for me, I know with a certainty that I just don't know the unknowable. I am content to leave it at that until the unknowable becomes known whenever that may be.

  It will take more than a group of "Holy books" to convince me otherwise. Thomas a close follower of Jesus ( according to what is written in one book ) was not punished for his doubts, he was rewarded ( Jesus made a personal visit to him ) and yet he got tagged with the label "Doubting Thomas". I follow in his footsteps, just call me doubting Blueblades.

  If God does not exist, whom can we turn to in a time of crises?

  If there is no afterlife, who will reward virtue and punish injustice?

  If God does not exist, what becomes of the worth and dignity of each person?

  Without God , how can man achieve happiness?

  I know the answers to these type of questions, do you?

  lets have a free for all .

  i would say why dont you have a book study anymore but that one is done to death... we had a witness recently and i asked for the latest jw only mag (he didn't realise i used to be in his cong... have i done that good a job at fading?

  ) it was a laugh to see the two of them struggle to come up with an answer.... ok lets here the best you can come up with, there has to be some better than mine, what question will leave them stuck for an answer...... .

  So, two fighters are in the ring, one is a christian, the other a muslim. They both pray to win. To do so, one has to hurt the other more. Jesus and Allah are in the ring. The referee is the devil. Really, you can understand how foolish this is.

  Again, the batter wants to get a hit off the pitcher, the pitcher wants the batter to get an out. They both pray to the same god. who wins and why? Really how foolish is this.

  The fans are divided and pray to their god, who gets an answer.

  Foolish indeed. It is the skill of each one that will make the other the victor, make sense?

  Prayer has nothing to do with it.

  I think it has played a role. However, with all the child abuse cases, and other legal issues, the society is doing the "CYA". Also, the many books that have exposed the past history of the society has hurt them.

  they are full of sh*t!

  if i were a practicing jehovah's witness, i'd seriously take the governing body's words to heart immediately.

  since they don't want to add any further burdens on us, i would not "wait on jehovah (them)" but instead i'd follow the spirit of their timely words and cut out one more meeting night and save gas money!
