It's certainly the best way to leave with your family in tact. I am very happy for you.

no longer a ms ........................... can't give details atm, for it might be a dead-giveaway and it ain't quite over yet.
but, it really taught me one thing: if you're trying to fade or stay in, trust no one.
and i mean no one.. eden.
It's certainly the best way to leave with your family in tact. I am very happy for you.

Chris, I see your point. I have read these excerpts of Scripture myself and wondered a similar thing when I believed the bible was from God.
I do think that Jewish converts have priority in the scriptures. But I also think that many scriptures point to non Jews being annoited too, like Cornelius for example.
Where I stand now. I think the bible is written by different men and gives different messages to different people. It's not a guide for my life anymore. I don't believe it's from God.

so last night i was talking to my sister about how i admired president obama's speech to the u.n that happened earlier that day.. i then compared the extremism of isis to how much of a fanatic my jw bil is.. at the end of the statement , my mom walked in to the kitchen.
she was standing in the living room and she heard everything i said.. she called the elders that night to tell them what i said so they can counsel me.. i'm going to meet with them after the meeting on sunday!.
what do i do?!!!!!.
Glad to see you are feeling better after some advice. You are right they really have no power over you. Kate xx
i finally registered on here after reading on the forum for almost two years on and off (more often the last year).
to give you some background on who i am i can say that i'm a girl in my late teens and live in western europe.
my mom is a jw and my dad is not.
Hi Capstone, and welcome.
You are one of the youngest on the board. Teenagers tend to be irregular posters because they are so busy with school. Well done for learning your dad's language, and it's good to hear your boyfriend is supportive and understanding about your situation.
Thanks for telling us your story. Keep checking in to vent and to update us.

hi folks:.
i've been lurking here all summer and i finally decided to take the plunge and join you all.. i'm a single, 53 y/o black woman living in the nyc metro area (usa).
i was brought up around jws:mom's mom, mom and my favorite auntie were all in.
Welcome Dale thanks for posting. It seems you have had quite an easy fade out the cult, but you have only just learned TTATT. Good for you for finally doing all the research and finding like minded ones to share strories with.

long time lurker, first time poster here finally looking to get some things off my chest.
i've always been a very curious person with tons of questions about everything, and i also care deeply particularly about societal issues like social injustice, racism, and homophobia.
that, coupled with how boneheaded all the elders in my congregation are (except for one), led me to ask even more questions that led me to find ttatt.. .
Thanks for your story. I enjoyed reading it. Your journey out can be successful if you take things one step at a time. Alternatively you may choose to stay in for family.
We are glad you have woken up. Thanks for telling us.

i am aware this has to be done quite carefully, but how?
while many may complain and see the hypocrisy within the kh's, maybe even with the gb, how does one bring up doctrine issues?
i surely can not tell my husband to "go look what jwfacts.com says".
Yes waking up the spouse or other family members needs to be done carefully and methodically.
My grown up daughter and I woke up around the same time. I kept telling her she was good at thinking for herself and that she didn't want to have any regrets.
She eventually stopped going and successfully faded
I don't know if my input helped though she could have left anyway.
I wish u all the best in trying to wake your hubby.

seeing various/changing laws on the same action, some may feel truth is relative, and there is no such thing as right and wrong.. yet a closer look at beneath the details would show that truth is not relative, and everyone knows what is right and wrong.. driving in the night by putting the head-light off is wrong, but right when country is in war with another country.
behind both the conflicting laws, the truth is same: safety and welfare of the people.
this is true of notion about what is right and wrong:.
Pinku,
The OP had no substance IMO. Are you starting a thread about spititism or truth? I would say your topic title is deceptive.

Nice photo's nic, I bet you're glad you're awake. Kate xx
a lone guy casually dressed with no tie knocked on the door and my son took him for a salesman , didnt answer the door and he soon left , he also noticed he put something in our letterbox as he left.. checking it out it was a flyer for the jehovahs witness convention which is a good 4-4 and a half hour drive from here where i live.. do they honestly think a householder who lives close to 4-5 hours away is going to go to a religous convention , when they have continously rejected the message in their own home town ?.
ok , so they are thinking , its advertising the convention to a far wider community in the state..... excuse me ?.
this particular convention is being held at etihad stadium in melbourne in oct.what has happened in previous conventions around australia , newspapers print special edditions to assemblys covering such conventions , however the rest of the state gets zero exposure to the assembly.. however the gullible rank and file think what a grand witness has been given with all this publicity .
even in places that are 12 hours away by car from the venue!-Stuck
Wow that is so unbelieveable. It's rediculous to expect anyone to do this, the invitations are quite clearly just advertising and have nothing to do with wanting the general public to be saved and come to learn about the true religion. If God wanted people to learn he would make it easier.
On the Mount of olives, before Jesus gave his famous sermon, he healed the sick so they were comfortable and could listen. That's if you believe the account, but by any stretch of the imagination, inviting strangers to a venue so far away is not spriritally productive.
