  A surprise result on my Dna geneaology test.

  i asked earlier this year if anyone had joined the national geographic's genographic dna ancestry research project.

  i decided to do it a couple months ago and also signed up with the testing lab to see , if i matched with any unknown cousins.

  it took about 2 months for the cheek swab to be processed and i have my results.

  It's fascinating. I'd like to do it but don't have the money at the moment.

  Because all the relatives were "worldly" we didn't keep in touch with them. I'd like to know them and more about my family background, and this would go even deeper.

  When my mom knew the bride or groom, she used to bring a bottle of wine to the KH for before the ceremony. So many couples were nervous nearly to death! She wasn't trying to get them sloshed but to calm their nerves.

  We got ours the weekend after Thanksgiving and it is beautiful. I don't have a digital camera so I can't post pics of it.

  How old will you be....

  when you will have been an exjw for as long as you were a jw?.

  i was raised in the jws from before the age of 10, and stopped going to the kh at the age of 31. i was involved with the jws for a total of 23 years.

  i will be 54 years old by the time i have spent more of my life as an exjw than i did as a jw..

  Life after the dubs

  over the weekend my journey to recover and find a life outside the wts continued rather well.

  although my saturday started with me feeling a bit lonely and down, i saw the guy over the road from me was outside, whom i have recently befriended.

  i walked over and saw him working on his car, as a mechanic myself i talked with him about what he was doing and he explained he'd had an accident which had damaged the suspension and was trying to sort it, in the end myself and another guy he and i know worked on it till dark.

  My first White Elephant Christmas Party

  I thought white elephant gifts were something you had around the house you wanted to get rid of. At the one I went to last week I got a rubber chicken and gave a fly paperweight and a plastic gun that blows soap bubbles. I like the chicken though its no reflection on my cooking.

  Judical Committee/ Plea for Reinstatement help

  hello to all it has been awhile since my last post but i have been lurking .i just wanted to be careful since i have been trying to be reinstated.

  to give you a little background in short after i left bethel (1993-1999) in 1999 i got married to a local sister from new york city ( brooklyn).i worked at different jobs but the last job i had was with the city of ny after 9/11 i lost the job .i told my wife about a job down south ,i told her that i would go down try the job out and if it looks like a good fit and it would work out she should move down in a few months .the job was going great things were looking up i told her to moved down but she hated the town said it was to small nothing to do but the great thing about it was that her job was in the town also all she would have to do was just transfer no job hunting at all .

  my wife would not move this went on for the next 2 years she said she was coming down then she said she need to finish up something at work .

  I doubt that all you've done in the past will carry any weight; jw's don't work that way. I don't see much hope of getting them to see things your way, the way they really are. Perhaps some with more recent experience will have different information. Their "rules" are not fair or just but if you want to be "in" you have to play by them.
