  the wts is fond of associating itself with great men of the bible claiming to be of this or that class (john class, isaiah class and so on).

  Could the "shocking" announcement be about blood issue?

  i've been reading the random threads lately about the "shocking" announcement that is to be made at the end of september, and i'd like to throw my 2 pence in.

  now, we all know that the wtbs has made several failed predictions, and i think we can all agree that they have probably learned their lesson from 1975's fiasco.

  most at bethel are old enough to remember the fallout for years after 1975. so to me, i think it's safe to say that they aren't going to be claiming the end is this year.

  This is the first I've heard about a tract regarding false religions destruction; how'd I miss it! Blondie, you're usually right. I think this would really get the older guard going; my sisters will eat it up. Do the newer ones still get caught up in this stuff? This would give the org a prediction without really putting their necks out.

  yesterday something happened that really pissed me off.

  i was walking out of a store that has two doors you have to walk through... the inner door and the outer door.

  basically a small foyer.. as i'm going through the inner door i notice a woman is behind be so i go on through and hold the door for her... she went right on through without a word and then went through the outer door, pushed it open and then let it fly back into my face.

  I Need Help!

  hi, i'm new to this forum and i was hoping someone could help me with some reasoning here.

  i notice in the watchtowers they mention that on occasion people fall into the "trap" of "independent thinking" and this is often associated with pride and a misunderstanding of god.

  also just as frequently it mentions that god progressively reveals truths to his followers.

  Badges for Conventions

  each year name badges are handed out at the kingdom halls for those attending the upcoming district convention.

  i have always refused to wear one but this was not a major issue as i would say only about 50% wore them anyway.

  however i noticed that as the years went by more and more 'brothers' were wearing them including during the lunch break in the city centre concerned.

  This happened to my family 10-12 years ago at what was to be my last or next to last assembly. My (then) husband and I arrived with a baby, toddler, and ten year old, and all the gear to get through hours of being away from home. Three "brothers" stopped us and asked where our badges were. I think the ex had them in his brief case - try carrying a baby while wearing a badge. I was beginning to feel frightened and thought we might be turned away from the building. I think my sister showed up about that time and she and her husband were well known. I should have gotten the message right then! Hateful people.

  i stumbled across this while searching on a totally different topic.. read through the transcript of the town council meeting.

  the questions asked and the dorkiness of the 'brothers' testifying is hilarious.

  someone should create this as a template for anyone wanting to resist kingdumb halls being built in their communities.

  <div>my very first visit to this website several years ago, was because i wanted to find out what the few surprises were going to be at the sydney 2003 convention.

  (i have family that are jehovahs witnesses but i am not) .

  it took a few months to sink in, but i gradually came to accept the real truth that these surprises are nothing of the sort.

  They do nothing charitable. I remember when living in PA there was a big flood along the Susquahanna River. A sister gave an experience of how she went along the flood area giving away free literature to the victims as though that was assisting anyone.
