In the top left of your screen, see the box that reads
Welcome Emma
Inbox (48 new messages)
Profile :: Files :: Logoff
Click on Files and follow the on-screen instructions to upload your picture.
When you make a post, click on the paperclip icon in the tool box (next to copy, paste, hyperlink, etc.). Select your picture. Voila!!

I've not had much success that way.
Another method (taught me by Doc Slugga) is to right clik on a picture, copy the url (address) and paste it in the box left of the smiley icon.

another method Slugga showed me was to keep your photos at a free site like photobucket and post them from there.

Nahh Emma, I haven't learned photoshop yet I have enough trouble manipulating the buttons on the camera and the clouds so they photograph right:
