The great 1914 turn around

i must say there is no other religion in modern times that has lied more to their cult followers than the watchtower company and no more brain dead, gullible cult members than the jdubs.. just three examples.

when russel was in charge 1914 was prophesied to be the end of the system of things with armageddon and the earthly paradise.

that didn't happen and poof now 1914 was not the end, oh no, it was the beginning of the end.. the second example, the generation that saw 1914 would not pass away before the end came, which meant in all jdubs minds that paradise had to be here in the late 1990's.

Water on Mars (Possibly life)

this has been an interesting story in the news recently.. just thinking, if in a few years time they drill down and discover water on mars and also some form of life.

In 1954, Watchtower challenged the then space missions saying that man cannot go beyond the atmosphere of the earth. That was proven false within a few years

Nowadays Watchtower is very cautious not to refute any scientific claims or theories.

They even Admit Neanderthals Existed.

So possibly now they would twist things like “We do not know Jehovah’s Plan in entirety. Possibly he may have created mankind somewhere in this vast Universe too” ….. Like that.

To answer the title of this topic. I am a born again atheist now and hence life elsewhere wouldn’t surprise me.

in late may 2017, i told my parents how i really felt about the religion they had raised me in, and by early june i was out of their house.

i've done a lot since then.

i let my hair and beard grow out a bit.

now, i would understand that if you were raised into the religion.

i was raised into it.

I am happy because, I made an extensive research on religions and found that all these eternal life, paradise, Heavan , hell, god, satan are nothing but imaginations and wishful thinking. In short they are gibberish.

So better be happy with the reality out there.

The Latest Thing Waking People Up...

since i woke up and left i've been contacted by others i knew from my youth who've also left the cult.

also people around the world on facebook adding me out of the blue because we have mutual friends and they occasionally ask me stuff or share their story.. what i've noticed in the vast majority of cases, is that people are waking up not because of the arc or doctrine but apathy.

active jws are becoming less and less interested, less and less bothered.

But the majority of Jws are too afraid to think or they wouldnt leave due to famiy reasons.

And I estimate this religion would survive for a while

The Repression and Expression of Anger Among Jehovah's Witnesses

something which i always found surprising when i attended the kingdom halls i studied was how angry, even vicious, many jehovah's witnesses could become when a watchtower study featured some persons and/or institutions the organization disapproved of, say, higher education and educators, christendom and its clergy, apostates, etc.

many seemed to sadistically enjoy denigrating these persons or institutions when the watchtower study conductor called on them and they were handed a microphone.

i wondered for a long time where this anger came from, and i've developed a hypothesis for explaining this.. according to a book i'm reading by alice miller called "for your own good: hidden cruelty in child-rearing and the roots of violence," children who are strictly controlled and abused (whether emotionally or physically) typically go on to unleash the anger they inevitably felt at their parents, but were never allowed to express, at their children or those around them.

When I was in, I was terrible angry over Chrsitendom for taking off Gods Name from the Bible. Was angry over people who celebrate Birthdays and Christmas. Such a Dumber.

Its all a result of the hate Propaganda by WT, that starts right from their Bible Study

Without god what is the basis of morality?

i'm sure most here who've questioned or left behind their belief in god have encountered this question - without god, what basis can there be for morality?

my exwife, when i admitted that i was an atheist, once asked me "if you don't believe in god, what's to stop you from going out and raping and murdering?

" previously, whenever i got this objection, i would tend to turn it around on the other person with a response along the lines of "if fear of god is the only thing that stops you from murdering, that makes me rather nervous to be around you.
