  i've on my been on this forum for a few weeks but the more i'm learning the more ill its making me feel that i believed the wts.

  my 12yr old today said i've made her miss out on having a normal childhood and i felt sick when she said it coz i know it's true.

  i've been telling my dad today the things i've learned that wts had lied about and about the child abuse and he's disgusted too especially coz he's missed out on 12 years of being able to celebrate birthdays with us.

  Jrjw, Sorry to hear that. Even a friend of mine who came out, had the same Situation.

  His son, who was raised in the cult for 15 years, now casually accuses him of ruining his childhood in the cult.

  When in, I had a hard time to explain to people that I don’t celebrate birthdays. Some openly commented that I had gone nuts. Now I realize that they would have considered me the weirdest Wacko they had ever seen

  Actually what is a Birthday? The day we were born and we remember it every once in a year to recall your birthdate and to feel great that you have made it alive up until then.

  Our well-wishers wish us happy birthday on that date of the year, to make us feel special and we happily realize that people remember us. It gives a sense of warmth that we are remembered, because humans are social animals. What is evil in that?

  This whole Cock and bull story of the Watchtower about birthdays, that people were murdered and god views death day more important than birthdays …. What a ton of garbage thinking.

  When I started to know TTATT(The Truth about the Truth), it took me a year to realize and convince myself that Christmas and Birthdays are NOT Evil.

  I have a christian relative of mine, who is highly educated, that doesn't believe the moon landings but in all honesty believes the Red sea parting, Jesus walking on water.....

  Next time she brings up this subject, I think I should involve more deeply with this.

  Great book for any JWs or potential converts (Who are bold enough to read it). Very interesting and mature all along. I feel the author Ray Franz provided 100% transparency about the inner workings of the WT, during that time.

  I bought this book twice as my JW wife trashed the first one and reported to the elders about it, who came on an interrogation visit, where I confessed reading it

  The Next time I bought it, I made a deal with my wife that if this book stays in the house, then the WT Publications would stay. Deal done. And here I am as a Happy and Free Atheist.

  Resurrection to Heaven

  ct russell said the dead would be resurrected to heaven from 1874-1881.. then the judge decided that it was not 1874/5 for the return of christ but 1914, so moving the heavenly resurrection forward to be from 1914-1918.. in truth nobody knows when it happens or happened.

  just because the watchtower leadership says something in the printed word doesn't mean that it is true.

  I have seen CT Russel's Pyramid tomb in Pennsylvania.

  Would his remains be still in or Disappeared as in "Jesus Resurrection" style. Just Curious.

  1st month of fading

  only my daughter knows.

  i've had a cold half of the month so no questions or pressure has been put on me yet.

  Just stop attending meetings. A few would come to pull you back in. Say you are busy. I did this and it worked without much repercussions.

  The move and Pub card transfers - just to escape WT - are not worth it. Its still Playing their game.
