Terry, thanks for sharing. I seldom read long posts, but I read all you wrote. I understand the initial frustration when you feel like a failure. I was at the same situation with my sibling and I failed to let her see throught the fallacy of JW. I think the biggest problem is that such encounters are random and ad-hoc, which makes person totally unprepared.

For 2000 years Christiants think that they end will happen within their generation. Every single generation between the time of Nero and today had seen themselves as the last generation. Years, after years, decades after decades, after many generations, biogeneis, era, and centuries. If we could see into the future and humanity is still alive, there will be still a group of idiots who will insist that the End is about to happen.

The same old story; they will await of the End that will never come, but they will experience their own demise.

Did You Ever Get Screwed By A Jehovah's Witness?
by minimus inwitnesses are supposed to be the "most honest people in the world".
most jws i know of do not put business deals in writing.
they simply "trust their brother".

My mom did. She did work fo some JWs who never paid back for done services and when she complained to the elders, she was threatened with DF.

My JW aunt died around 2000 with a belief that she will be resurrected shortly. Earthly resurrection is one the biggest nonsense many Christian faiths in consideration of finite space and resources on this planet.

They continue to drop like flies
by suavojr inyes, the jws continue to bleed their young ones, so far in my local kh 3 were dfd, one girl just turned 18 this month and packed her bags and said goodbye to the cult and her cultish parents, another young 18 year old man decided to have a non-jw girlfriend and decided to stop attending and is no longer a witness.
they continue to leave and wt leaders dont give a damn.
they dont do anything to help kids be successful and live a healthy life.. .

I am not sure how is world wide, but in the 1990's majority who left WT cult in Czechoslovakia were males in their mid and late 20's as a result of flip flopping doctrine regarding alterantive service. Based on the census, median age there for JW is 38.5 years. Considering life expectancy and family ties, their number can remains the same for the next 45 years. For the exodus to be deep and structurally profound, it have to be done in mass, and have to take several generations of JW out of the Borg. Because people stream out of it every year does not mean the organization is dying.

WATCHTOWER on revelation's MYSTERY GREAT BABYLON, And your view about it
by gggolovkin ini think wt interpretation about the rev.
mystery great babylon is too general, saying that is all false religion..... from reading revelation, it looks more specific because it says, it is the mother, ( maybe origin or root ).... what's your view ?
thank u and hoping for ur replies.

The Babylon of Revelation was Rome. Elaine Pagels who is an expert on the Gospels and 1st century Christianity also said in her book "Revelations: Visions, Prophecy, and Politics in the Book of Revelation" that it was Rome. There is not really much sense to associate provincial impoverished city in Judea like Jerusalem with wealthy cities full of merchants like was Rome, Alexandria, and Antioch. For 1st century Jews who witnessed destruction of their province and capital, the comparison to Rome made a sense as it was seen similar what Babylonians had done hundreds of years earlier.

The woman would never talk to her grandchildren because her son was DF. She will just walk by and pretend that she does not see them. She was one the most active pioneer and would cover large area in day. She died alone while her six year old grandson was wondering why granny would not talk to him when they met on the street of very small city.

I never realized that Hitler's persecution of the Witnesses was worse than that of the Jews

Prologos, the JW suffered for truth that had since changed. The WT didn not really cared about their plight nor fate. They were sacrificed pawns for martyrdom like early Christians who refused to obey Roman Laws often not related to anything religious like signing documents under the bust of the document.

Demons - Possession - Dreams & Witnesses
by objectivetruth ini would like to get some opinions from you all.. .
have you known a lot of witnesses that have dealt with demon issues?
have you personally dealt with problems with demons?

JWs have unhealthy obsession and fascination of demons. They believe in them more than any other group I have encountered. In my Czechoslovakia, I had run into such ridiculous claims done by witnesses:
- Demons cause arousal for males during night
- Elder told me that demon wanted to play a soccer with him and when he was alone the soccer ball started mysteriously bounced. He got rid off the ball.
- Sister claimed that surrealistic painting she inherited was a self-portrait of the demon. She had hard time to burn it and insisted that the picture was jumping from the fireplace and made strange shreiking sounds. Yeah for real!.
- Demons have caused for gay men to enjoy homosexual sex.
- Demon attempted to atack an elder during the field service. Elder walked into something and crack his head...in the countryside
- Demons can be heared in every music, even classical. One brother was DF for disagreeing, he was playing instrument in the local state opera performing mostly baroque music
- In the 1980's some brothers were attacked by demons when a bookshelves fall on them during book study, injuring severals. The possibility that bookshelve was not properly mounted into the wall was immediatelly dismissed.
Jehovah witnesses put so much power into the hands of the demons that you ask where are the angles... Blank stares....
