Just sent letter to my parents that I no longer want to be a JW

by NAVYTOWN inis it really true that jw children get gifts 'all through the year', not just for christmas and birthdays like non- jw kids?
as stingy as most jws are, i find that very hard to believe.
plus the childhood magic of christmas and birthdays is totally absent in jw households.

I saw kids hardly get a thing, unless it was as a reward for doing something the society wanted like pioneering. Then they were rewarded with nice ministry bag. Even a boiled sweet had to be earned by answering up or placing a mag. A simple biro for kids to scribble with during meetings was treated like it was gold.
The tightest group of people I have even come across even towards their own families. Material meaness to the extreme is all that I saw.

how can you leave god's organization to celebrate the work of satan the devil?
it just goes to show you how jehovah's christian witnesses are correct about how persons will leave the truth for their own selfish desires.. first off, christmas is a pagan holiday and it proves no spirit with the almighty jehovah and his son, the christ.

it's from the bible teach book, chapter 16 para 11. i did that many bible studies and trained them how we need to make a stand for true worship and not ever return to pagan practices.. so now over this season of good will, and fun i have a literal bitter taste.. are you having flash backs?
how can we remove these images from our brain?

I have not celebrarted this holiday in 34 years. Not because of what JW's teach but just down to my own research. Today I'll just relax, watch movies, play my guitar, tinker about. How about you?

Why are there no black angels?
by snare&racket injw literature is racist as hell.
jesus looks like an american folk singer, the governing body look like a corrupt version of an enron luncheon.. the jw's literally print different magazines for africa with african pictures, black people instead of white, to make it 'more appealing' to them.... just to be clear that means they think the opposite is true too!.
....and then there is the lack of black angels..... .

Why are there no black angels? You mean in heaven? Or in the witness literature written by poeple who have never seen heaven or been there and don't have a clue what it's like ion such place but in their racist arrogance they assume God and his team to be white like they are? Is that what you mean?
To be made in God's images means to be white does it?
This is all such crap. Adam and Eve were not white. Ancient Israelites were not white. Jesus was not white. Early Christians were not white either. -

by Simon ini had an idea for coming up with a standard(ish) set of interview questions which members of the ex-jw community could use to provide insights into their lives as a kind of series (yeah, i was thinking of "interview with a vampire", lol).. anyway, this is the result to show the sort of thing i'm thinking of (applied to myself) and i'd like feedback on the format and the questions as well as who you'd also like to see "interviewed".. feel free to provide your own life story as a separate topic or ask any additional questions that i've missed.
it's not meant to be rigid so questions / themes can be adapted as needed and split / joined as appropriate.
the common questions will hopefully apply to everyone for some consistency and to guide the writing process with additional questions asked that make sense to each subject.. well, here goes .... tell us a little about yourself and your family.. im an independent software developer who grew up in manchester (uk) but now lives in calgary (canada) with my wife angharad and two boys, liam and dylan.
