What is this little creature anyway? A Bat? If she were my pet, I'd give her a Beautiful Name, Something that would be good for her self esteem.

I'm Attending the Memorial
by RichieRich inmy lovely girlfriend and i sat down over a homecooked meal, and discussed the pros and cons of attending the memorial.. i decided, with her support, that we would attend.. i spent years of my life pretending to be a witness to please my mother.
when i left the witnesses, my mother said some hurtful things.. and those things really hurt me... for a while.
but i established myself as my own person, developed my own relationships, and have gotten a good start on my own life.. i don't know that i want to hurt my mother back, but i do want to make it abundantly clear to her, my grandmother, and all the members of my former congregation, that richierich is alive and kicking.. and i think that walking into the kingdom hall, dressed respectfully in a suit, yet with full piercing jewelry intact, and with erika wearing something classy that steals the brother's eyes, and draws glares from the humble sisters, will be just the thing to send that message to my mother.. i don't plan on partaking or making a disturbance.

Oftentimes, going to a meeting will help you realize you don't ever want to be part of this Organization ever again. It's different when you've been out for awhile getting your head cleared up. You realize how wierd these people really are.

Trained to love
by dedpoet ini came across this section in the pay attention book just now, about how to welcome newcomers to jw meetings.
it seems that the wts think that jws aren't naturally loving, welcoming people, and have to be constantly reminded to extend a welcome to visitors to their meetings.. .
newly associated ones are especially in need of attention.. when they first come to the kingdom hall, new ones .

Why don't YOU believe anymore?
by Crumpet insomeone on another site was asking "what if they are right?
" which made me think about why i know that they are not and i wondered what was your epiphany or road to damascus moment or moments that just made you realise - hey i've been led up the garden path here!.
here was my response but i really think a list of reasons on one thread for easy reference for newbies would be good.

I don't think they'll totally disolve. They've been opening up Corporations pretty much the same as Big Businesses do.

I saw a Professional Only Once, From there on it was a Healing Experience. She advised me to stop punishing myself for the Bad things others do. I think I just needed a reminder.

The strangest looking (and acting) nut jobs you have ever seen at the KH!
by new boy inthere are so many after after 52 years in the "borg".. my top two would have to be at my last hall tigard oregon.. one lady slept in her pickup truck with 30 parakeets, sometimes in the kh parking lot.
people tried to help her with accommodations but she like the truck.
she really dressed up for the meetings......feather boa's, big hats, looked like may west from the 30's.

It's difficult for me to look at anybody being nutty or otherwise. I see them as Delicate Souls needing acceptance and love like most others.
