What will the next "witness" fad illness be??
by stuckinarut2 inas we know, it seems that many witnesses "suffer" from "illnesses" at times.. now , before anyone scolds me for being insensitive or unfeeling, i am not mocking those who really suffer from illnesses of any sort.
i am having a go at those that jump on the bandwagon of the popular illness, which actually makes real sufferers feel jaded.. i am referring to the way that many witnesses who are actually damaged as a result of the constant "fear.obsession.guilt" of jw propaganda, often seem to "contract the current illness going around", or blame it on that instead of looking at the real cause.. im sure it is a subconcious result of the burdensome pressure of jw life that brings it on.
instead of seeing the draining effect on their lives as being the result of witness life, they will latch on to the next illness going around.. so, what is the latest going to be?.

My JW friend turned down the "privilege" of working the literature table at the park. Why?
by MissFit ini have written before about my jw friend that plays hookie with me on sundays.
we skip the meeting and go straight to lunch and margaritas.
she converted later in life and has been a jw for over 25 years.. she is in her late 70's and has had heart problems.

The battle axes I've been around are probably shaking their righteous heads wanting to throw down some mags and quote ten ole testament scriptures at every door like they've done for years.

jw.org madness
by Gorbatchov inmore and more jw.org special campain pictures made by the r&f flush over the internet.. it's crazy how this jw.org madness becomes a phallus inside the witness world.. observing it from some distance, it is clear: jw.org is the central theme of the current witness beliefs.
every step they make, is for promoting jw.org.
when they speak, they only speak about jw.org.

the insanity of Sam herds talks at the convention
by purrpurr ini've picked up two that stood out to me but i'm sure others will have noticed more:.
he gave an illustration about fearing god and he said it is like a wife who has spent all day preparing the evening meal for her husband and she hears him come home and perhaps she is trembling a bit out of fear that he might not like the meal she has cooked for him....!!!!!!!!????.
the other was about verbal abuse and how it should not be used but rather than site the effect it has or the forms it can take he said that we shouldn't call each other " dumb dumb" or "knuckle head" .

@ Hamsterbait, "wife-beating time at the OK Corral", funny but I don't think that would happen not in a Thousand Years! Sista Herd be saying, uhuh, you don't like it you can make it your damn self!

Cool name, NMH. Keep your head down and your mouth shut, and again "do not put your faith in a companion or trust in a confidential friend."

Convention Season-"Saving Good Seats" & Other Embarrassing Behavior
by Darth Fader The Sequel insince it is the convention season (and i am not attending this year or ever again), and i have been seeing other posts about some of the goings on at the various ic's and rc's, i am reminded of some of the truly embarrassing behavior i have "witnessed" (pun intended) over my lifetime of being a jdub at the various conventions and assemblies.
probably the most disillusioning experience at a convention that i have ever had was one year when i volunteered to be an attendant.
all of the volunteers were asked to attend a special meeting a few months beforehand to get instructions for our duties as attendants.

Yes, have seen people flinging WTs across stadium seats like a skilled Vegas blackjack dealer, only to have them removed by a self-righteous elder's wife. It's funny how the "choice" aisle seats were usually snatched up by the attentedants themselves and by youthful early-bird single pioneer types who were the first ones to start nodding off during the first long-winded symposium.

i presume it will be all about "recommending strongly/insisting" that all these men should pioneer for the month?.

Fill out the application and turn it in, then do as much as you want. If you don't make the quota, you don't make the quota. What are they going to do, Df you?
