  it's from the 5/1/1950 wt article " a christian use of material wealth.

  the money which is contributed by persons who accept the printed bible-study helps from jehovahs witnesses aids quite a bit in keeping the work going.

  @Data-Dog, you go dog! Give your "heartfelt" comment. Please see my topic, "This week's Bible reading". Your diligent WT research has turned up an obscure yet classic quote that will hit 'em square in the mouth. I love it! When I referred to the 1879 Russell gem about never soliciting men for donations, etc., etc. during the Bible highlights, the elder said good comment, but I bet his mind was reeling. Or maybe not

  I had a funny feeling he was a Witness... and now I need help.

  im in a bit of a bind and im not quite sure what (if anything) i can do about it.

  i was recently hired as a business consultant for a rather large company.

  the company that hired me mentioned that they are concerned about a certain department and the way its being run, as this department affects every other department in the company.

  @jgnat is correct in pointing out his belief system. He is a company Director, the hell you say that you cannot discuss values and beliefs. Is this company in a right to work state? Given his position, it would not matter because he is in management. I say can his ass, as this "meek and mild" JW will never change his stripes (sorry for the scriptural reference). In this day and age, companies realize that an employee's values and beliefs unfailingly predict behaivors. When a person's values and beliefs are mis-aligned with the company's, it usually means that he/she is not a good fit for the company and should be dealt with quickly.

  MTS & Gilead: Can we talk about how much of a FAILURE these 2 schools were/are?

  i know quite a few from both of these schools who basically crashed and burned once they got into their assignments.

  graduates of these schools would be thrown into foreign territorities or remote areas without a good visible means of support and would get emotionally, mentally, financially burned out.

  post your experiences or of those you know that went to these pitiful excuses for educational institutions..

  The only MTS grad we ever knew was assigned to a very small rural congo, the dude was freaky. Had a weight problem, single, low self-confidence and obviously had other "issues". He met an older divorced pioneer sister who strung him along, then dumped him like a sack of potatoes. The poor sap was left broken hearted, tear-bag, shell of a man. He gained back about 100 lbs. and was reproved by the BOEs for some kind of misconduct involving another sister. We still see him around, but he avoids us, whatever Cap'n!

  the method i used lol.

  1) be a good servant and make sure your wt and pub are always underlined every meeting(great for appearances).

  2) comment every meeting(a "sure way" to know someones "spiritually qualified").

  Suavo, Batman89: "being careful for the JW freaks, they might throw you under the bus". Yea, I agree. That reminds me of a comment made on the forum regarding the "prodigal son" DVD: after the mis-guided JW guy bangs the office hottie, he whimpers, "oh Jehovah, I done got sexy" BooHoo.

  this week's reading included exodus 25:2 where moses was to collect contibutions from those whose heart incites him to.

  i commented on this verse and quoted from the watchtower 1879 where it says, "we will not beg or solicite funds...when jehovah fails to provide the necessary funds it will be time to suspend publication.

  " mind you, this was the same meeting where the letter was read about the new donation "arrangement" was read.. comments anyone?.

  Ditto Magnum's 1st corky dot, also Data-dog's wit especially the parody of the 'ole KH favorite song, We're J Witnesses ("Once there was a guy named Chuck"...cracks me up every time) and Outlaw's memes are classic.

  Blondie's scholarship, she would be a great elder, why to be able to quote the publications like that, chapter and verse.

  Guess What? Elders Can't Get Clergy Insurance !

  A minimum of a Master's Degree in Theology to acquire coverage? LOL! The WTBTS would have zero elders if that were required to qualify for eldership.

  The vast majority of them are qualified for very little except giving form talks and asking scripted questions. Shoot, most of them can remember the names of the people in their own service group. I could go on and on.
