The Holy Spirit? Is it even a thing or is it some imaginary, invisible, indestructible, unreliable force like the expression out of the Star Wars movies,

If it's so powerful and it's from god, why the hell isn't it doing something good today, right now to help humans. After all, humans are god's greatest creation right?

thinking back to the time of raymond franz, how he pointed out specifically numerous teachings that the churches really did have right all along, and really any of the hidden mic apostacy trials you listen to on youtube, you see that even when inconvenient bible teachings are proven, the elders just try to sweep it under the rug and move on.
i think i remember franz saying how one of the gb approached him somewhat sympathetically, but there was nothing he could do.. whether you believe in the bible or not, there are some basic beliefs common among most denominations because they're just so plainly stated, such things as heavenly life for all christians, no central authority structure, minimal use of god's name, etc.
They have to have different beliefs otherwise there would be no changes to the dogma, no "new light". You gotta wonder which one of those guys came up with "overlapping generations"!

the watchtower said when it started out in 1879 that god's kingdom had already arrived in heaven in 1874 and that its work would be complete by 1914. .
with heroic slogans of "destroying the kings of the earth" and "all enemies of christ the king" etc by 1914, "god fearing" humankind was to have been restored to prelapsarian innocence and the earth to a global edenic paradise.
Put the word "God" in front of anything and it benefits those raking in the money!

latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.

Even the wtb&ts has sent a caution letter to the congregations here in the usa about covid-19. First time I've heard the borg get officially involved in a medical alert! The letter even said to stay home and listen in to the meetings if one feels ill. WOW
