last week's study (october wt, page 23), par 10:.
abigail and david.
david and his fellow outlaws protected the nabal family's flocks no doubt with daily support (how else would these fugitives make a living?
The fictitious biblical character David was an a**hole. Funny he he ended up with the "good looking" wife of both Nabal and Uriah. Hey when you're the King, anything goes!

Jewish mythology and legend---a.k.a 'The Bible'.

growing up in scotland in the 1970s in scotland the anointed were few and far between, but we had one old dude in our cong who claimed to be one of the anointed.
in the days when it was taken seriously.. i'd be curious how you viewed them.
thing is, he wasn't an elder, or even a ministerial servant, just a plain old publisher.. but he was revered like he had a hotline to jesus.. the other week i was talking to a friend of similar age to me but who hung around the wt a lot longer than i did, and he just commented "oh him... he was a doddery old fool who used to just sit and piss himself.
Having been raised as a jw since age 4 and now 73 you come across many so-called "anointed". They majority of them had very strange, quirky personalities. Several I knew were left overs from Rutherford's reign and were "bull dog" type witnesses that really believed they were brothers to christ! Of course back in the 20's and 30's if you were a jw, you were basically a 'born-in' anointed. lol

i was reading today that the last star wars movie will be playing next week.
doing a little searching, i found that there have been 12 movies in the saga total, ( box office, total (12 films): $9.323 billion.)..
it got me thinking about when the empire strikes back came out, it was the second movie ( 1980).
The really STRANGE thing is that all of us once believed this sh*t!

omg!
this has to be more of "keeping the flock busy and excited" so as not to notice whats going on.. how did i miss this?????
the jehovah's witnesses announced plans to build a 1.5 million-square-foot audio-visual production center in upstate new york, two miles away from the witnesses' headquarters in warwick.
Sounds like wt is going into the video/cd production business. Biblical themed videos for sale and Christian (aka jehovah) music videos and cd's for sale.

this is an hypothetical question...i am doing well.
but i was thinking about how my jw family, grandchildren and all will feel when their inactive grandfather dies with no hope of being reunited in paradise.
of course there would be immediate rejoicing if i came back to the "truth" and a surge of conditional love from the "friends".
Is this a rhetorical question? Being a jw IS a terminal illness! The brain dies first followed eventually by remaining parts of the mortal body!

among the reasons the watchtower society gives in appendix c of the new world translation for inserting the name jehovah in the new testament is the following:.
· " in greek, is the definite article missing from before kyʹri·os (lord), where it would normally be expected grammatically, thus indicating that a proper name may originally have appeared in the greek text?
d. does anyone know if this is a valid argument?
Too bad for jw's that they weren't around when the bible was first being assembled. Every other word could have been jehovah! But since they weren't around, I wonder why jehovah himself couldn't see to it that his name was preserved and included in the bible!

wonder if the wt is doing the same!!!!.
https://www.cnn.com/2019/12/18/us/latter-day-saints-charity-funds-complaint/index.html.
just part of the article.. (cnn)the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints, commonly referred to as the mormon church, responded tuesday to a recently-filed whistleblower complaint that accuses the church of stockpiling $100 billion in accounts intended for charitable works, misleading members and avoiding paying taxes.. .
All religious organizations are the 'pot of gold at the end of the rainbow'. Tell the faithful that god needs their money and they close their logical brains and open their wallets.
It will be a great day when religion starts paying taxes.

the watchtower—study edition | november 2019. lessons we can learn from the book of leviticus.
16 satan and his world have done much to make the work of that faithful slave challenging, even impossible, to carry out from a human standpoint.
despite two world wars, relentless persecution, global economic crises, and unjust treatment, the faithful and discreet slave has continued to provide spiritual food for christ’s followers on earth.
One of my favorite quotes!
“Isn’t it a remarkable coincidence that almost everyone has the same religion as their parents? And it always just happens to be the right religion.”
